The Loon: Yaya: Season One Episode Two by Kelly Moore and Shannyn Leah - Book Review & Giveaway

Amazon USA Amazon UK Goodreads
Review by Anniek

Yaya is a nightmare on her best days and a person to avoid on her worst days. She wears wigs in all kinds of colors and sells viagra at the local nursing home. Even though her daughter Lucy is married to a very rich man and money is no issue anymore, Yaya has the strong need to feel financially independent. She was once a poor young girl and was forced to do horrible things for a small amount of money. She made a promise to herself that she would never be out of money again. Ever since her son-in-law, Marc, passed away the whole family is struggling with getting back into a normal routine. What will Yaya do when she finds out her daughter is being blackmailed because of things her late husband had done?

Yaya is the mother and grandmother of Lucy and her children. She never backs down for a fight and has no problem of ending up in jail for it. She has an explosive personality and isn't the best example for young children. In reality Yaya is actually a very loving person. She does whatever it takes to keep the family safe and together. Yaya is the type of grandmother who might not always make the best decisions but you love her anyway. The Davenport family is a bunch of colorful characters and I couldn't wait to read about the kind of troubles that laid in store for them.

The Loon is the third installment in The Crazy Rich Davenports series. It's the second episode in which they show how they deal with loss, family secrets and love. Kelly Moore and Shannyn Leah have teamed up to write about the most dysfunctional family you'll ever meet and they made me laugh out loud so many times. The story is fast-paced and I flew through the pages never knowing what would happen.

Kelly Moore's and Shannyn Leah's writing style has a wonderful flow, which makes it easy to follow the story. They seemingly have gotten so comfortable with each other's writing style that I can't even recognize anymore who wrote which chapter. Ever since I read  Dare To Enter: The Crazy Rich Davenports: Season One: Series Pilot I'am hooked and I can't wait to read the next episode in this series, F%#KING SCREWED: Ford Davenport: Season One Episode Three.

Advice

If you like to read books that make you laugh out loud, The Crazy Rich Davenports series would be a perfect choice. Please keep in mind that the books in this series can't be read as standalones. To fully understand the story you have to read them in chronological order.

About Kelly Moore

Hi my name is Kelly Moore and I am Southern girl raised in Florida. I am a registered nurse actually an ICU traveling nurse, wife, mother of two children and I have three grandchildren. I have always been an avid reader and kept journals. Until Broken Pieces, I never had the courage to attempt an erotic romance book and submit it for publishing. I tend to embrace the brokenness in all of us. It makes us who we are. I love to see people come out strong and win against past pains.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing the story.

About Shannyn Leah

Contemporary romance author Shannyn Leah loves olives, lip gloss and reading (and writing) romance novels. Her love of words started at an early age and soon grew until, during her teenage years, she’d started writing her own novels. When her mom pushed to finally publish some of the stories, she quickly amassed two complete romance series (By The Lake and Caliendo Resort series) and, in 2016, released her first Fantasy Romance entitled The Gatekeepers (Part One of the Winters Rising series). In 2017, she released her first BAD BOY Romance.

When she's not writing contemporary romance books into the early hours of the morning, Shannyn can be found antiquing with her two favorite people, her momma and sister, in their picturesque London, Ontario hometown.

Shannyn would love to get to know her readers as you get to know her (just don’t send her any carrots!)

Shannyn also writes under her sweet & clean name Audrey Delaine.
