What makes my heart beat faster
Guest post by Amelia Grey

Good morning everyone!

I’m Amelia Grey, author of over fifteen Regency romances I describe my books as delightfully fun and wonderfully sensual. I make my heroes handsome, my heroines strong, the dialogue witty, and their romance sexy. Dear Readers,

It may be summer warm in Florida, but it feels like Christmas to me! I’m hearing jingle bells and ho, ho, ho. There’s a hint of cedar, pine, and wood smoke drifting through the air. Houses are decorated with the welcoming warmth of colorful shades of autumn which will soon turn to Christmas lights, and it’s the perfect time to tell you about my two Christmas novellas: The Duke and Miss Christmas and Mistletoe, Mischief, and the Marquis.

I hope you’ll go to your favorite e-retailer and check them out. But before you do, today I want to give you three reasons why I love Regency romance books, and I’m hoping by the end of this blog you will love them, too. So without further ado, here they are.

Amelia Grey’s top three reasons for loving Regency Romance Books:

Reason 1:

The time period is fabulously sexy because men were gentlemen and women were ladies. A lady’s clothing was stunning and delicate. Soft cotton chemises, sheer and wispy lace gowns, silk stockings, and jeweled combs to hold their chignons in place. Men cloaked themselves first in honor and then their perfectly tied neckcloths, cutaway coats, and Hessian boots that were polished to a sexy gleam, while slowly sipping a glass of brandy from the finest crystal snifter. Setting the scene and atmosphere are important to me whether I’m writing or reading.

Reason 2:

The love scene in a Regency is like silk and satin, a falling of clothes so gentle and grand it's like the reader is a part of the fabric that ties the scene together. There’s a definite feeling in a Regency when the hero and heroine succumb to the moment they know they must be together. There’s no greater element of sensuality and romance as that moment we've been waiting for as our hero finally touches our heroine.

Reason 3:

The intricate dance of manners expressed in a Regency are not born but taught and very romantic. Think of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. My goodness, the sexuality sizzles as they perform the maneuvers in keeping impeccable decorum. The reader is sitting at the edge of her seat waiting for Mr. Darcy to please brush his thumb against her wrist and hold her waist just a little tighter. But alas, his gallant manners are perfect. Our desire to keep reading in the hopes one of them will fall short and embrace the other are what makes us breathless!

To find out more about me and my books please check out my website or Facebook page listed below. Don’t forget to check out my Christmas novellas: The Duke and Miss Christmas and Mistletoe, Mischief, and the Marquis.

The first book in my new series Wickedly Wonderful Widows will be out June 2019. Please watch for THE EARL NEXT DOOR.
