  1. I have a lot of books, so I usually wait for sales or get the book from the library.

  2. I have a ton of books I recieved, haven't read them all yet

  3. A cover does help me to stop and check it out if it is romance, mystery/thrillers and some more. I get books for 2 sisters and 2 of my daughters so a cover tells me a lot. Sometimes i pass along the link since they all read so fast and they order themselves as well.

  4. Sometimes if I'm on the fence about buying something, a great review will push me to buy. Covers alone don't often convince me to buy, though I may look for a book with a good cover in the library.

  5. If I'm interested in a book, a good review can make me buy it. A great cover don't convince me to buy a book.

  6. maybe once ever few months if I really want the book.

  7. A review, particularly from someone I trust and who likes the same sort of genre, can make the difference between my buying or rejecting a novel. Covers not so much as they differ from country to country, from publication to publication.

  8. Good reviews and the blurb on the back will often entice me to buy a new book. While the cover will cause me to pick up a book and read the blurb, I'd never buy a book based on the cover. Now that I read so much on my Kindle, a great cover is just a waste. I can only appreciate it if I holding a print copy in my hand.

  11. Good reviews most certainly get me reading a particular book and covers have been known to draw me in or turn me off.

  13. If the source of the review is someone or a publication that I respect I will put the book on my list of to be purchased and I buy according to the list....Covers usually do not matter much to me....I appreciate the art of a good cover but it does not influence me...

  14. I buy a lot of books from recommendations. And yes, I sometimes can't resist a book just because of its great cover.

  15. A great cover will convince me to pick up a book and check it out. No matter how great a recommendation, I tend to stick to my book budget.

  16. I do read the blurb and reviews of the books I buy. I like nice covers but they don't influence me to buy a book.

  17. A buy quite a few books based on recommendations. The cover sometimes helps push me to buy!

  18. I usually just read the back of the book or inside the cover to determine if I'll be interested in reading it. I don't judge a book by the cover and just because someone else may or may not like a book doesn't mean I'll feel the same.

  19. "How often do you purchase a book after reading a recommendation and does a great cover convince you to buy something?" I will become interested in lots of books after seeing them on blog, but whether I see something on a blog or at an online store, I really need to be intrigued by a great cover, especially one that's a bit wacky and different!

  20. A great review or recommendation will often get me to take a look at a book, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll buy it, so maybe fifty percent of the time. I've definitely been guilty of some cover buys.

  21. Sometimes I do. I tend to go to the shop and read the blurb and actually I think a great cover can draw me in too.

  22. I usually purchase a book straight away after reading a recommendation and a great cover does convince me to buy something.

  23. That's really hard to tell, but usually it takes several recommendations before I will buy a book. And as much as book covers can lure me in, I think what's between the covers is more important, so I'd never buy a book because of a gorgeous cover design without knowing what it's about.

  24. I tend to do a sweep of amazon as they always know the authors I buy! I do look at recommendations on goodreads as well, especially as I'm doing the challenge of 100 books and am only 18 ahead - need more reading time, get to 150 this year lol!!

  26. I frequently buy books I read about online, especially for my kids. The cover isn't always the deciding factor, though.

  27. I sometimes get a book after a recommendation, I try to look for more information, such as a summary, etc.

  28. I rarely buy books from recommendations but I do sometimes borrow those books from the library to see if I might want to buy them. I've never bought a book because of its cover, they are pretty much irrelevant to me - its the contents that matter. I might pick a book up and read the synopsis as a result of its cover but, other than that, covers really don't interest me. Rafflecopter entries are in my real name NIKKI HAYES, thanks for another great giveaway :o)

  29. The covers often influence my book choices but sometimes reviews don't influence me unless they are written by someone I trust.

  30. I don't buy books simply because of written recommendations, though they can get me to check a book out. The same thing is true with great covers.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The cover rarely affects my decision to purchase a book however reviews do. I keep a list of all the books I want to purchase.

  37. I buy books quite often if I have read good reviews of it. I don't take a great deal of notice of book covers unless it is a really bad one and that can put me off !

  38. I limit my purchases, but I do go out and pick the books up from my library. It's a great places to go crazy and pick up books based on covers or recommendations.

  43. I often purchase a book after reading a recommendation. A great cover does make me want to buy the book.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The cover is enoughto convince me, but if i hear a good recomendation I'll deifinitly give it a go

    ReplyDelete
