Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe by Rosie Green - Book Review & Giveaway

Amazon USA Amazon UK Goodreads

Review by Suze

Ellie needs a change of scenery. After a bad breakup she's ready for something new. That's how she ends up in Sunnybrook, a wonderful small town. There she meets Sylvia, the owner of the Duck Pond Cafe. Sylvia offers her friendship and a place to stay, which is exactly what Ellie needs. Ellie can rent the small flat above the café, but there's one condition, she has to share it with Sylvia's family members occasionally when they visit. When Ellie says yes she has no idea that Sylvia has one particularly handsome nephew who makes her heart beat faster every time she sees him.

Sylvia's café is a tribute to the past. That also means it's hard for her to let go. Ellie would love for her friend to be happy once more. Can she help Sylvia to move on and see the good things the present has to offer? Can she assist her to make her business a success while trying to deal with her feelings for Sylvia's nephew? Ellie isn't looking for love, but the cheerful Sunnybrook has a healing effect on everyone who stays there, and it seems to keep finding her. Will she be able to give in and give romance another chance?

Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe is a wonderful feelgood story. Ellie is sweet and caring and I admired how brave she is. She takes risks to find future happiness and I loved how she always tries to find a solution for every problem she encounters. She constantly helps others and because of her gorgeous personality she quickly makes new friends. I couldn't wait to see if she'd find herself in Sunnybrook and if she'd be able to stay there permanently. I effortlessly read the book in one sitting because it made me both curious and cheerful.

Rosie Green has a lovely heartwarming writing style. Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe put a big smile on my face. The setting is stunning, the inhabitants of Sunnybrook are fabulous and there's always something interesting going on in the little village. I love that the story has such a nice cosy feeling. It's the perfect atmosphere for a terrific story about true love and beautiful friendships. Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe is a delightful uplifting story.

Advice

If you love uplifting stories about small towns with wonderful inhabitants you don't want to miss Spring at the Little Duck Pond Cafe.

About Rosie Green

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village café.
