  1. I'm a great fan of Tana French's crime thriller series set in my old home town of Dublin but her next release is a stand-alone, The Witch Elm. It is a thriller mystery about a man who is attacked and as he recovers from his injuries, well, to quote the blurb on Goodreads: the book "asks what we become, and what we’re capable of, when we no longer know who we are". Her writing style almost demands that we ask these sort of questions of ourselves and that's what makes them so interesting for me.

  8. The Forbidden City (The Dragon's Legacy #2) by Deborah A Wolf. A fantastic epic/high fantasy author who I discovered earlier this year. I've already read the first book in this "sand and sorcery" fantasy series and this second book is top of my to-read pile at the moment. Highly recommended for fans of Steven Erikson and similar authors who write for the more discerning fantasy reader who doesn't mind a challenging read. Rafflecopter entries are in my real name NIKKI HAYES, thanks for another lovely giveaway :o)
