One Good Man by Emma Scott - Important Message, Book Review & Giveaway

Review by Suze

It's 1970 and Janey ends up being arrested for a protest she was covering as a journalist. She's a student majoring in French and journalism and to keep his daughter safe and away from punishment, Janey's father sends her to France to finish her education at the Sorbonne instead of in the middle of actions against the Vietnam War. Janey isn't happy with this decision, she wants to have a big breakthrough and find impressive stories to write. Can she also do that in Paris?

Janey's first assignment in her new hometown is interviewing a local soccer star. Spending time with a jock is not what she wanted at all. However, once Janey gets to know Adrien she discovers there might be a story behind the guy who pretends to be an arrogant womanizer after all. Adrien is the star player of his team, but he's hiding something and Janey is determined to discover what it is. What will she find when she uncovers the truth and what will it do to both of their hearts?

One Good Man is a wonderful story about true love, dreams and dedication. Adrien is a kindhearted, caring and chivalrous person. He always puts his family and friends first. He's willing to sacrifice his own happiness for the sake of others and this makes him a real hero. Janey slowly peels off layer after layer of his complex personality. It was incredibly interesting to see what she'd find. She's a sweet girl with a mission, she wants to successfully cover the news. She's smart, resilient and perceptive. She lets her heart lead her, but she never loses her mind. I loved this fabulous quality and it's how she slowly breaks down Adrien's walls. They're perfect together and I couldn't wait to find out if they'd find happiness in a seemingly unhappy situation for both of them.

Emma Scott has a lovely heartwarming writing style. I admire the way she explores emotions. She understands them through and through and makes sure she gives her readers excellent insight into the personalities of her main characters. She combines this with beautiful descriptions of unconditional love in many different forms. One Good Man is an incredible story with many amazing moving scenes. I absolutely loved this gorgeous romantic book.

If you love stories about true love, family and strong emotions you don't want to miss One Good Man.

Important message

On the morning of June 20 2018, author Emma Scott's ten-year-old daughter, Isabel Hairston, was rushed to the hospital after a massive heart attack. Isabel suffered from the rare, life-threatening disease Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome since birth. With the support of her friends, family and the local community Isabel never let her condition hold her back from being a happy, vibrant girl.

Unfortunately Emma Scott has left a message on her Facebook page, sharing devastating news about Isabel. Emma Scott and her family had to make the incredibly difficult decision to let their little girl go.
