Car Accidents - Personal Post & Announcement

 By Suze

A lot of the regular With Love for Books readers will know that my husband is the one who's taking care of a large part of our giveaway packages. There will be some delay in the coming weeks because he was in a car accident. Someone pressed the gas way too hard in a traffic jam and hit his car from behind. The result is a heavy concussion and a sprained back. He has to rest and can't do any physical work. I haven't been able to spend as much time online because of this. I'm trying to blog as much as I can, but if I'm a little bit more slow with my replies or if you have to wait longer before you receive a package this is the reason.

Accidents happen and most of the time there isn't much that can be done to prevent them, but in some of the cases something could have been done. An accident can have grave consequences for everyone involved. A little bit of extra patience goes a long way and no texting and going online behind the wheel are small things that can make driving more safely. When an accident has just happened to you you start paying extra attention to those around you and a lot of people cause unsafe situations because they're in a hurry or unfocused. Fortunately these things often don't have any grave consequences, but sometimes they do...

I've selected a few beautiful stories that evolve around car accidents. I think it's a subject that should be written about more and I admire authors who write impressive stories about something that so many of us are a victim or witness of at some point in our lives. Make sure there are as few incidents as possible and always drive as safely as you can.

  25. I'm so sorry this has happened to your husband. I'm glad he has you to help him get better. I'm always very nervous about someone plowing into me from behind, no matter how safe you drive, it is one thing you can't prevent, what happens behind you. I totally agree with you, people need to be focused on driving and not texting or other distracted or harried driving.
