  7. I prefer rural settings to city settings, I like to have nature around me - though a reasonably large town shouldn't be too far away. So rural settings or villages are my preferred setting for a novel, probably because I can relate much better to them.

  10. "What's your favorite rural/nature setting to read about and why?" Probably a small village or a country estate where Agatha Christie or Dorothy Sayers establishes a murder has occurred, because the country is lovely and yet sheer wickedness may lurk there.

  45. Love reading about the rural country life which includes horses, dogs and other animals. Plot-wise most plots appeal if they are set in the farming/equestrian genre too. I think it's because since I was young I have been horse-mad and had mine own for 10 years and if I won the lottery I would have my own house with its land and some stables. Also we have had dogs since I was born, have a labrador cross rottie at the moment.
