Forbidden Fate by Mia Pride - Book Review & Giveaway

Review by Anniek

Gwynneth was always destined to fulfill the prophecy of the Danu sisters. Her father is the King of their Tuath and the prophecy states that Gwynneth must marry a King as well. Instead of marrying the love of her life, Liam, she had to marry Baene. Baene loves her, but Gwynn's heart already belongs to another. After a horrific accident Gwynn wakes up in a small house in a secluded area in the woods. She has no recollection of what happened and she has lost all of her memories. Luckily her husband is with her to nurture her back to health. Why did Gwynn fall of a cliff and will she ever remember who she was before the accident?

Gwynn is a shy and sweet woman. She always had a strong bond with her father and she loved him dearly. Her father had to raise her on his own, since her mother lost her life in childbirth. Gwynn is a beautiful woman with silvery blond hair and green eyes. The sisters of Danu are identical triplets with only their hair color to keep them apart. Gwynn is stunned when she finds one of her sisters, Ceara. Ceara has fiery red hair and is married to the King of a nearby Tuath. All of the sisters have magical gifts, gained by the fairy blood that runs through their veins. Gwynn has the power of the element water and Ceara was given the element of fire. Which element will be for the third sister?

Forbidden Fate is a magical story filled with love, mystery and legends. I love Ireland and think Mia Pride has chosen the perfect setting for her mythical story. Gwynn and Ceara connect as sisters right away and I loved reading about how comfortable they are with each other and how much they care for one another. Apart from their identical faces they are quite different, their characters are more like their elements and I loved these contrasts between the two sisters. Forbidden Fate is full of secrets and action that kept me hooked through the whole story. Mia Pride's writing is amazing and I fell in love with Forbidden Fate straight away.

If you love to read about true love combined with legends, mystery and magic, Forbidden Fate is a story you shouldn't miss. Please note that Forbidden Fate is the first book in the Sisters of Danu series, so if you want to know more about the other two sisters you have to read their stories as well.

About Mia Pride

Mia is a full-time wife and mother of two rowdy boys, residing in the SF Bay Area. As a child, she often wrote stories about fantastic places or magical things, always preferring to live in a world where the line between reality and fantasy didn’t exist.

In High school, she entered writing contests and had some stories published in small newspapers or school magazines. As life continued, so did her love of writing. So one day, she decided to end her cake decorating business, pull out her laptop and fulfill her dream of writing and publishing novels. And she did.

When Mia isn’t writing books or chasing her sweaty children around a park, she loves to drink coffee by the gallon, get lost in a good book, hike with her family and drink really big margaritas with her friends! Her happy place is the Renaissance Faire, where you can find her at the joust, rooting for the shirtless highlander in a kilt.
