Book Review - Ottercombe Bay - Part Three: Raising the Bar by Bella Osborne

Amazon USA Amazon UK Goodreads

Review by Suze

Daisy is still in Ottercombe Bay. She wanted to leave straight after her Great Uncle Reg's funeral, but he found a way to make her stay. He's left her an old railway station, but there's a condition, she has to live in Ottercombe Bay for a year. Daisy has found a way to make the building profitable and her business is about to open. Will her new bar be a success and will she enjoy working there?

Daisy has several friends who love to help out with the work at the bar and she's starting to feel more at home in the town she wanted to leave so badly. Living with her aunt is more fun than she thought it would be too. However, her past is catching up with her and Daisy finds out someone she's slowly giving her heart to has been lying to her. Can she forgive and forget or are matters more complicated than that?

Ottercombe Bay - Raising the Bar is another amazing part of the Ottercombe Bay series. Daisy is tough and she's used to taking care of herself. In Ottercombe Bay there are people who care about her and she slowly starts showing she cares as well. She might find it difficult to stay in one play for a whole year, but Ottercombe Bay is definitely growing on her, which was wonderful to see. I love Daisy's spunk, she's fierce and fiery and can stand her ground. She needs it though and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to find out if she'd manage to solve her problems and find some happiness.

Bella Osborne has a great warm writing style that's laced with humor. I love her vivid descriptions of her characters' personalities and the loving way she writes about their quirks always makes me smile. It was fun to read about Daisy's challenges and adventures again. Ottercombe Bay - Raising the Bar ends with a fabulous cliffhanger that made me eager to read more. I really like the Ottercombe Bay novellas and can't wait to read the next one.

If you love stories about fiery heroines, fabulous small towns and fascinating challenges you will definitely like the Ottercombe Bay stories. I'd advise you to start with the first story, Where There's a Will, and read the books in their correct order.
