I like fantasy stories like The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, set in alternate worlds that are somewhat similar to our own but with different types of people, dragons and other creatures. I like the books to have credible characters who are not wholly good or bad, who make mistakes that can have unforeseen consequences, and who you can believe in. Above all I like the author to have not only thought about plot and character, but to have created a whole world, with history, languages, religions and customs.
