  8. I like books if they have a good story that sucks me in. So I like the classics that do that. I don't like boring classics.

  9. One of the things I love most about the classics is their very lack of trendiness. The problems they deal with, the heart of them, tends to be about the lasting things that mattered 200 years ago and will matter 200 years from now: family, integrity, independence...the list is long but it's not movie of the week material.

  10. I enjoy reading about how they lived back then. What their environment was like and their customs.

  11. I enjoy the classics because they take us back to a period of time that was completely different to now. They show us what life used to be like and how clearly class and status made such a difference as to how people lived and died.

  12. I like that the classics just show the trends in punctuation and in the way we speak.

  14. Classics offer excellent storytelling, splendid descriptive language and well developed characters, along with a glimpse into the manners, politics and philosophy of the past that is less accessible through non-fiction history books. There's just something attractive and intriguing about a book that has stood the test of time and offers a look into history and storytelling.

  22. What I like most about the classics is that, no matter where you are form or what era, the characters and the situations resonate with you. You can feel the sorrow and pain of the characters because you have felt them yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love that a lot of them have old fashioned family values in them because we need to go back to them.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I can imagine the way they lived with all the family values, and costumes but also the deceit that comes with some of them. Anne of Green Gables is my favourite.

  27. I love the beauty of the writing on the classics. It's like a language that no longer exists. Times were different and you can Invision it do much clearer in the writing details. It was a romantic language, even if the book had little to do with romance!
