The Château of Happily Ever Afters by Jaimie Admans - Book Review & Giveaway

Wendy likes routine. She has pulled back from having a social life after her relationship ended badly. She's close to her eldery neighbor Eulalie and loves spending time with her. Eulalie tells beautiful stories about France. Never in a million years did Wendy think that any of what she was telling her would be real, but when Eulalie passes away it turns out that she had much more than a vivid imagination. Wendy inherits a beautiful château in France and because of a loophole she has to share her inheritance with Eulalie's nephew, someone the old lady has never met, Julian. Wendy considered Eulalie family and she's angry that just because of the French law she now has to share Eulalie's beloved château with someone her friend didn't know anything about. Will Wendy and Julian be able to reach an agreement together?

Eulalie has always believed her château is magical and that it would bring a happy ending to anyone living there. The château will give its inhabitants what they need instead of what they think they want. Wendy could use an adventure to get out of her shell and I loved it that the château has such a strong pull on her, even though she has no idea how to deal with such a big old building. Wendy is a responsible person and likes to avoid the unexpected. Is a magical castle what she needs to make her dreams come true and how does Julian fit into all of this?

Wendy and Julian are completely different. While Wendy hates the outdoors, Julian is thrilled about all the acres of land and the orchard that come with the castle and Wendy can be easily annoyed at times, while it seems that nothing can ruin Julian's good mood. I loved the way they interact with each other and I laughed out loud when reading their bickering multiple times. Wendy gets herself into the most hilarious uncomfortable situations. Because of her adventures she felt like a real person to me and I think she would be someone I'd enjoy spending time with, which is something that, when it happens, makes me really pleased when I'm reading a good romantic story.

Julian is a model and is obviously incredibly good looking. He's determined to stay at the château and that means he has to deal with Wendy as well. He's better prepared for a life in France than Wendy and he can't resist to tease her with this sometimes. Even though Julian is successful in his professional life he doesn't look down on people and he treats everybody with respect. Plus he has some wonderful hidden depth. I loved his character, it's impossible to dislike a man with such a sunny personality.

The Château of Happily Ever Afters is a true fairytale. Who wouldn't wish to inherit a beautiful château in the French countryside? The fact that the story also holds a mystery made me like it even more. Jaimie Admans is a very skilled writer and I loved taking this trip to France with her. Because of her vivid descriptions I could easily picture the château and its surroundings. The Château of Happily Ever Afters is a heartwarming story about finding what you need in life to be happy. I'm a big fan of Jaimie Admans and absolutely love her sense of humor and lively writing and highly recommend any of her stories.

If you're looking for the perfect summer read filled with love and humor The Château of Happily Ever Afters would be a perfect choice.

About Jaimie Admans

Jaimie is a 32-year-old English-sounding Welsh girl with an awkward-to-spell name. She lives in South Wales and enjoys writing, gardening, watching horror movies, and drinking tea, although she’s seriously considering marrying her coffee machine. She loves autumn and winter, and singing songs from musicals despite the fact she’s got the voice of a dying hyena. She hates spiders, hot weather, and cheese & onion crisps. She spends far too much time on Twitter and owns too many pairs of boots.

She will never have time to read all the books she wants to read.

She is the author of chick-lit romantic comedies The Château of Happily Ever Afters and Kismetology, and she has also written young-adult romantic comedies Afterlife Academy, Not Pretty Enough, and North Pole Reform School.
