Not Quite Perfect by Catherine Bybee - Book Review & Giveaway

Review by Suze
Mary is good at her job. She's a therapist and is a natural at helping people. She knows how to take care of herself and is fiercely independent. She doesn't date and when Glen gives her his number she doesn't call. When after a year Glen is tired of waiting he asks her out. It's clear from the start that they like one another very much.
Dating someone who doesn't live in the same state isn't easy, but Mary and Glen are trying to make it work. When problems start to arise in both Mary's personal and professional space Glen realizes how difficult it is to have so much distance between them. He might be able to see her often because he's a pilot, but that doesn't mean he can get there in a short amount of time when she needs him. Will Mary and Glen have a chance at happiness or will it be taken away from them by someone who doesn't wish them well?
Mary is a strong and capable woman. She doesn't lean on anyone, she doesn't cry and she can perfectly cope on her own. She has a loyal best friend, but always wants to give more than she receives. She hardly ever lets her guard down. Glen is generous and caring and Mary isn't used to that. It was interesting to see her reactions to his attempts at breaking down her walls. Glen has always been a bit of a player, but when he starts dating Mary he knows those times are over. He treats her with respect and is chivalrous and sweet, which is something I liked a lot. Mary and Glen have an effortless companionship and it's obvious from the beginning that they belong together. I loved their banter and found their reactions to every new step in the relationship adorable.
Catherine Bybee mixes love with a creepy, gripping stalker story. The first part of the story put a smile on my face and the second part kept me on the edge of my seat. I always enjoy being surprised and the many unexpected twists and turns in the story make Not Quite Perfect both fascinating and complete. The vivid descriptions of Mary's world enable the reader to get really close to her and that is why the story immediately grabbed my intention, which lasted until the end. I read Not Quite Perfect in one sitting, because I couldn't put it down and absolutely loved this fabulous captivating and romantic book.
Not Quite Perfect is the fifth book in the Not Quite series. All of the books can easily be read as standalones.

With true love, there’s no such thing as a safe distance.

Mary Kildare knows how to read people. It’s both why she makes a great therapist and why she refuses to trust the average bachelor. Staying fiercely independent has been her primary relationship strategy—until wealthy playboy pilot (and commitmentphobe) Glen Fairchild reappears in her life. After a yearlong teasing tug-of-war, Mary and Glen test the waters of attraction, only to find that their physical chemistry runs deeper than flirtation.

At first, a bicoastal romance suits them both—especially since Glen can swoop in and whisk Mary away on one of his company’s planes. But no matter how close they get, they’re still three thousand miles apart. And when Mary’s life is threatened, Glen realizes the one luxury he doesn’t have is time. Can he close the distance between them before it’s too late?
