I usually read between 30 and 40 books per year. I have never taken part in a reading channel, although I have thought about it. I go through stages of maybe only reading one book a month, and then I might read 8 or 9 depending on how much free time I have and how much I'm enjoying the books. A reading challenge would make me feel that I HAD to read and I prefer to read at my own pace, purely for pleasure!
ReplyDeleteI don't really take part in challenges, I'm not sure why :) I usually read quite a few books a year but this year I have not .

ReplyDeleteHard to say, but perhaps about 50-60 in a year. Some challenges I do, some I don´t. It depends on what the challenge is and if I feel that I have the time for it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe 30-40 books a year, possibly even 50. The only challenge I take part in is the Goodreads Challenge and that's only because it's... there. I don't go out of the way and take part in other challenges.

ReplyDeleteI read very slowly, not by choice, (have eye problems). I'd say per year maybe 10 long books and about 20 short books. No I don't do challenges; I read for pleasure, not as a competition. I read what I want to read, and when I want to read, not dictated by any outside source. That was school and I'm not in school any more, lol

ReplyDeleteI typically read 90+ books a year and set my challenge at 100 this year. Unfortunately, this year with an unfortunate personal event in my life and now my new job at the library, I've had a bit less time to read. I'm only at 56 so far. I don't feel pressured by the challenges. I mostly like to see how my friends are doing.

ReplyDeleteI honestly couldn't say how many books I read per year as it differs so much as to how much free time I get to read them. I don't join challenges or set myself targets because I only read for pleasure and to learn about things so rushing through books just to make a tally doesn't make sense - at least to me personally.

ReplyDeleteI cut-and-pasted the wrong phrase into the "Comment on a review" part of the Rafflecopter today; it should say A BRIGHTER FEAR. Sometimes I'll take part in a challenge if it coincides with my summer reading (when I'm already committing to a large number of books), or with what I'm reading anyway!
ReplyDelete--Trix

ReplyDeleteI take part in the Goodreads reading challenge and I set it for 100 books a year. Have managed it for the past 3 years but am 4 books behind target this year...eeeek! Must read faster! I enjoy the challenges as it's good to look back and see what books you read over the year.
ReplyDeleteI on read 2-3 books a week, so whats that over a year, between 100-150, I don't do challanges, I just like to read at my pwn pace

ReplyDeleteUsually 20 to 30, but it depends on a lot of stuff, sometimes maybe more or less. It depends on my school and work. I don't take part it challenges
ReplyDeleteVery hard to read many books with 4 children. Hoping as they get older I can start to read more and show them that reading c an be done for pleasure. No challenges for me at this time!
ReplyDeleteI would say 20-30 a year - depending on what holidays I take. At the moment Im doing the "read your way around the world challenge" theres 80 books from all around the world but all have been best sellers - I thought it was a good way of widening what I read as I usually stick to the same things.
