  1. I usually read between 30 and 40 books per year. I have never taken part in a reading channel, although I have thought about it. I go through stages of maybe only reading one book a month, and then I might read 8 or 9 depending on how much free time I have and how much I'm enjoying the books. A reading challenge would make me feel that I HAD to read and I prefer to read at my own pace, purely for pleasure!

  2. I don't really take part in challenges, I'm not sure why :) I usually read quite a few books a year but this year I have not .

    ReplyDelete
  5. I read about 100 books per year, sometimes more, sometimes less. This year I am not participating in a reading challenge, but I did previously, eg a challenge to read "big books" (more than 700 pages).

    ReplyDelete
  6. I read around 35. I used to enter challenges but I prefer a little more freedom. The only challenge I'm in is in Goodreads.

  10. a few; no- not interested

    ReplyDelete
  11. I usually read between 70 and 80 books a year. I do the Goodreads challenge. :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. I read maybe 50 a year!! I don't take part in challenges, mainly because I don't know if I have the time to do it at the time!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I read approximately 30 per year. I do the Goodreads challenge but never set too high a goal but I don't do any others that challenge me to read certain types of books. I just read what I enjoy

    ReplyDelete
  14. I read about 30 books a year maybe even less because I am quite a slow reader. I never take the challenges.

    ReplyDelete
  15. In a year, I read more or less 25 books. I'm slow in reading because of work. :/ I tried to take part on Goodreads challenge though but i didn't finsh it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I try to read a book every 1-2 days, so I probably average 200 a year. No challenges for me, I don't think I need them, do you?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I probably read around 60 books a year. I don't take part in challenges I prefer to read at my own leisure :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't take part in challenges because I work 12 hours / day. I read 2 books / year because I work 12 hours / day.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hard to say, but perhaps about 50-60 in a year. Some challenges I do, some I don´t. It depends on what the challenge is and if I feel that I have the time for it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Maybe 30-40 books a year, possibly even 50. The only challenge I take part in is the Goodreads Challenge and that's only because it's... there. I don't go out of the way and take part in other challenges.

  22. Sometimes I can read a book a day and sometimes it takes a week. It depends on what outside forces dictate. I've never done a challenge as I read what and when I want.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I read very slowly, not by choice, (have eye problems). I'd say per year maybe 10 long books and about 20 short books. No I don't do challenges; I read for pleasure, not as a competition. I read what I want to read, and when I want to read, not dictated by any outside source. That was school and I'm not in school any more, lol

    ReplyDelete
  24. I read about 2-3 books a week... so whats that 150 a year? ish! I don't do challenge, but then, I haven't really thought about it xx

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  27. I typically read 90+ books a year and set my challenge at 100 this year. Unfortunately, this year with an unfortunate personal event in my life and now my new job at the library, I've had a bit less time to read. I'm only at 56 so far. I don't feel pressured by the challenges. I mostly like to see how my friends are doing.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I try to read about 12 books a year. Not a lot, but I like to take things slow.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I read between 24-30 a year - I haven't taken part in a challenge but I'd like to, to force me to make more time for it.

  35. I've just started reading again after a 6 year hiatus. That's what happens when you have triplets! I still only get about 30 minutes before bed so no challenges for me unless the challenge is to finish one book a year ;)

    Thanks for giving.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  50. I honestly couldn't say how many books I read per year as it differs so much as to how much free time I get to read them. I don't join challenges or set myself targets because I only read for pleasure and to learn about things so rushing through books just to make a tally doesn't make sense - at least to me personally.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I read on average about 35/40 books a year, and no, I don't take part in challenges, I'm not at all interested in challenges, I'm afraid

  53. Yes, I love taking part of challenges. I don't know - I love to read, I read every day and why not make it fun and challenging :) I started with reading 120 books per year and this year I've already doubled the score. I think I'll read around 300 books.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I cut-and-pasted the wrong phrase into the "Comment on a review" part of the Rafflecopter today; it should say A BRIGHTER FEAR. Sometimes I'll take part in a challenge if it coincides with my summer reading (when I'm already committing to a large number of books), or with what I'm reading anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I probably read around 150 books a year, but I've never done any challenges, I've never really found a need, there are enough books in the world that I want to read without any other motivation.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'm a savoury reader, I love to read and savour what I read so, my book count per year is on the low side, but I squeeze as many books in as I can. No challenges for me, there just isn't the time

  74. i read about 3 or 4 a month on average and i have taken part in a book challenge run by work

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wow that's hard maybe 30-50. I would read more if I could but can be too tired after a day of work then my kids fighting ;) I don't do challenges as don't always have the time to commit to them.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I having phases of reading but do it to please myself rather than as a challenge and probably read 30 books a year.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Usually well over a hundred, though I have read less this year because I've been trying to catch up on sleep! I am awful for "just one more chapter..". I've never taken part in challenges, purely because the thought never really occurred to me!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I am an avaricious reader and will take every opportunity I can to read! This year I am quite disappointed in that so far I have only read 43, but my life has been absolutely chaotic!

At the moment Im doing the "read your way around the world challenge" theres 80 books from all around the world but all have been best sellers - I thought it was a good way of widening what I read as I usually stick to the same things.
