Romancing the Nerd by Leah Rae Miller

Review by Suze
Dan is a popular guy. He used to be a nerd, but since joining the basketball team things have changed. He doesn't like it though. He had fun watching movies, reading manga and role-playing. Plus he had Zelda on his side. She doesn't like his new status very much and has her reasons for it too. Only Dan doesn't know what they are and he still likes her very much. He keeps messing things up and ends up making her look like a fool in front of most of the school. She wants revenge and finds the perfect way to do it. Her plan is working out too well, she actually likes it and maybe she even likes him. That can't be possible though, or can it?
Romancing the Nerd is fun. I love Leah Rae Miller's sense of humor and read most of this book with a smile on my face. Zelda has her own style and I liked that a lot about her. She can be insecure, but she does the things she loves anyway. That was fantastic to read about. Dan is a sweet guy who doesn't know how to deal with his new status. He misses hanging out with his old friends and he wants Zelda in his life again. There are several obstacles he has to overcome and it was interesting to see what he would do. I loved the way Zelda and Dan connected. They have a lot in common on many different levels.
Leah Rae Miller knows how to describe her main characters and her settings. She makes her stories come to life very well. Being able to visualize what she had in mind was great. I loved the cosplay scenes and could picture them easily. The story is cute and sweet as well. If you're into computer games, role-playing, fan fiction and anime you will definitely like this book. There are some fabulous chats with plenty of material to think about. Romancing the Nerd is a wonderful romantic book.

  1. My daughter would love this book! She likes "nerd" stuff like Pokemon and pun t-shirts. Romancing the Nerd would be perfect for her.
