Mischief and Mayhem by L.E. Rico - Book Review & Giveaway

Amazon USA Amazon UK Goodreads

Review by Suze

Jameson's ex-husband Win has broken her heart and she's made a vow to remain single. She isn't interested in another relationship, especially after what she's been through. Jameson is a single mother with several loving sisters. Her son's grandfather also enjoys to help out, so there's plenty of support. When disaster strikes Jameson meets Win's brother Scott for the first time in years. Scott once made her an irresistible promise, but does he still intend to keep it?

Scott left his hometown because of family problems. Now that he's back he has trouble adjusting. He never got along well with his brother and finding out that Win's ex-wife is single again makes Scott feel things he's never felt before. However, he can't date his brother's ex-wife or can he? When Scott and Jameson spend time together sparks fly, but would it be a good idea to give in to them if Jameson wants to keep her promise to herself and if Scott will leave again? Will they be able to resist temptation or are their feelings too strong to walk away from?

Mischief and Mayhem is a wonderful romantic story. Jameson is a strong and determined woman. She's a great mother, she's a caring and protective sister and she's a sweet daughter-in-law. Her ex-husband hurt her, but he hasn't broken her and I admired her strength. When Jameson meets Scott she knows she's in trouble. Especially since he's living abroad and doesn't intend to stay. Scott is a kindhearted and chivalrous man. He has such a lovely personality, but he's also a troubled soul. I couldn't wait to find out if Scott and Jameson would be able to heal each other's hearts. Fate offers them a chance and discovering if they'd take it kept me glued to the pages.

L.E. Rico has a lovely heartwarming writing style. I love the Whiskey Sisters, they're all fabulous. Jameson is part of a great family and I really enjoyed reading about them again. L.E. Rico skillfully describes the relationships between her main characters. She perfectly understands friendship, true love and family and the result is a well balanced story with many fabulous twists and turns and an adorable ending. Mischief and Mayhem is a terrific charming, captivating and tempting story.

If you love small town romance you don't want to miss Mischief and Mayhem.

About L.E. Rico

You don't always end up where you thought you were headed. At least, that's been my experience. I was going to be principal French horn of the New York Philharmonic. That was the plan. Well... actually... that was MY plan. The New York Philharmonic had no idea of my intentions. And that's not a bad thing.

As an undergrad music major, I got a job at my campus radio station working for minimum wage (then, a whopping $3.85 an hour!). Suddenly, the plan changed. And so did I. Fast-forward twenty-something years and here I am, with an even better gig as a classical music radio host.

I do my best to demystify classical music for my audiences by taking it off a dusty old pedestal and putting it into a modern context. Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to be heard on some of the biggest public radio stations around the country. Check out the On Air page to find out where and when you can hear me.

Okay, so there I am, all comfy cozy in this really successful career when one day I started to write. And write. And write. By the time I was done, I'd completed an entire novel called REVERIE. But I wasn't done. I kept on going until I 'd written two more novels, RHAPSODY and REQUIEM.

That's when I found myself at Entangled Publishing with contracts for two brand new series.

Yikes! How am I supposed to keep up with all of this? Check out Words & Music, my blog page, and you can keep up with my ongoing efforts to balance the two worlds and figure out what the heck I want to be when I grow up.

In the meantime, I'll be plugging along with my cutie pie husband, Tom, and bratty schnauzer, Gracie— those adjectives are totally interchangeable between them, by the way—from our home on Long Island.

  1. Mischief and Mayhem sounds like it's full of charm, family and small town goodness.

  2. Two of my main ambitions were to learn how to play the alto saxophone and learn how to tap dance (not necessarily at the same time!) by the time I was 40. Funny how life turns out.

    1. I have to ask- have you done either? Or are you not 40 yet? πŸ™‚

    2. Not yet and I am waaaay over forty. I have learnt to make icecream and I managed to get a tune out of some bagpipes once :)
