Talented Artist - Paula Weaver from Little Bun Designs UK - Interview & Giveaway

Little Bun Designs UK

About Paula Weaver

My favourite quote is - Bloom Where You Are Planted

As a life long sufferer of OCD & anxiety, this has particular significance to me as my life is largely out of my control. Unable to pursue my chosen careers of beauty therapy & midwifery, I have been forced to rely upon the creativity inside of me as a means of income...

With Little Bun Designs UK I am literally Blooming Where I Am Planted & loving every minute!

Interview

1) Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself?

I’m Paula from Cheshire in the uk. I live & work in a historic market town in my parents picture framing businesses, as well as running my own business - Little Bun Designs uk.

 2) What’s the inspiration behind your work?

I’ve suffered from anxiety & obsessive compulsive disorder since childhood which has left me unable to work full time or pursue my chosen careers in beauty therapy & midwifery - which is why my craft business is vital to me in many ways.

I find most of my inspiration from nature & animals - especially woodland creatures & also have an intense fascination with anything miniature.

 3) Where did you learn how to sew and embroider?

I have crafted & sold my creations since I was 16 - everything from polymer clay jewellery to lip balms & I am self taught in all of my crafts.

 4) What does your work place look like?

I have two workplaces - my spare room at home & my work station at our beautiful shop in rural Cheshire - both work places are organised - but extremely messy...!

 5) You make bookish items, where does your love for books come from?

My love for books stems from childhood - I’ve always loved the classics - from The Decameron to Dickens & I have a special passion for old books.

 6) Can you tell a bit more about how you started your store?

Little Bun Designs began as a hobby - a distraction to help me cope with the loss of my beloved bunny - Suki - hence the name.

 7) You use a lot of fantastic materials, how do you find them?

I source many of my materials online, as well as from local craft shops & also fellow Etsy sellers.

 8) You visit local craft fairs too, how is that, where can people find you and what do you like the most about your stand?

I sell all of my work in our shop & also at local craft fairs - interacting with my customers face to face is one of my favourite aspects - it adds an extra dimension to the internet selling with my online shops.

 9) You love trying new techniques, how do you handle learning a new skill?

I love to try new crafts & techniques & tend to just dive straight in & get busy.... if something doesn’t turn out as easy as I thought - then I consult the books I bought on the subject before I started - I have a habit of doing things back to front!

 10) What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to build up my second online shop at Conscious Crafties - the online selling platform for people with disabilities - to the same level of success as my Etsy shop.
