  1. I like the romantic notions like titles and balls, the escapist fantasy, the slower/different pace of life, the layers and intrigue in the rules of society. The descriptions of men's fashions, especially the mysteries revealed when a man removes his cravat. While I love me some eye-candy, there's something to be said for leaving things to your imagination too.

  10. Sounds a bit daft considering I'm on my PC entering the comp, but love reading about how they spent their time when there wasn't TV's, computers and iphones about. Really love the descriptions of the grand houses and the idea of being driven around in a horse and carriage, or ladies riding side-saddle (I've done the first one but not the second). Would have really enjoyed the balls and the titles although in my case, I would have probably been a servant lol. I also find the names given to some of the characters/places in historical novels fascinating and often wonder where they get the names from (if they are made up in the case of places).

  14. Something about it captures my complete attention. There is a deeper level of knowledge that can't be faked very well. Doing research then writing a story...a lot more in depth needed.
