Can't Miss Christmas by Miranda Liasson - Book Review & Giveaway

Review by Suze

Graham would do anything for his niece, which is why he is at his ex-wife's book signing. He plans to wish Grace a Merry Christmas and walk out again, but fate has other plans. Because of a snowstorm there are no flights to Philadelphia, which is Grace's next stop, one she doesn't want to miss, because she will be spending time at a children's hospital. Graham has a Range Rover and is heading the same way, so he offers to drive her. Is it a good idea for Grace to accept?

Graham and Grace have a past. They used to love each other very much, but when things became difficult they didn't make it as a couple. Spending time with each other in a small space will force them to talk. Will they be able to face their difficulties this time? An accident messes up their plans and they're stranded in Mirror Lake, which means they have even more time to get through together. Will the magic of Christmas bring them a second chance?

Can't Miss Christmas is a beautiful emotional story. Graham and Grace are both kindhearted people. They went through a lot and my heart ached for them when I read about what they had to face together. They both deserve some happiness in their lives and I kept hoping they would be able to work things out. However, life is tough and talking about devastating pain is difficult. I loved how Miranda Liasson combines grief with love, hope and dedication. She balances the good and the bad in a gorgeous way that moved me to tears.

Miranda Liasson knows how to write romantic stories. Her main characters are special people, they work hard to make something of their lives and like everyone else they also make mistakes. I love that combination and seeing them grow on a personal level is heartwarming. Can't Miss Christmas is festive and enchanting. There's sorrow and there are tears, but there are also plenty of smiles and romance. I especially enjoyed the amazing feelgood ending. I love reading about true love and Miranda Liasson has written another wonderful story about this great topic.

  14. Wow, the covers are stunning. Plus I love the idea of second chance romances with the same person. Combines a lot of my favourite themes - stranded, lovers reunited and of course the family Christmas feeling.
