Review by Suze

Beth has promised to organize her sister's wedding and has plenty of work to do. She's just moved into Chippingford where she's hoping to make a fresh start. She meets Lindy, a single mother who can sew really well. Lindy loves her children, but could use a good friend. Rachel owns a house in the village, where she now lives permanently on her own, and when she meets Beth and Lindy there's an instant click. They're all looking for extra work, so decide to set up a wedding business specialized in organizing vintage weddings. They will help brides with small budgets to have the wedding of their dreams. Will their newfound friendship and business venture be a success?

A Vintage Wedding is a lovely story about friendship and true love. Beth, Lindy and Rachel are all quite different and they complement each other in a fabulous way. They each have their own talents and have something special to contribute to their business, which is why it's working so well. I love how they gradually form a solid bond with each other, but also with other people in town. Of course in a story about weddings there's plenty of love and I couldn't wait to find out if the three friends would find the men of their dreams.

Katie Fforde's writing is warm and simple and her story easy to follow. What I liked most about this book is the beautiful friendship between Beth, Lindy and Rachel. They're always there for each other and therefore their problems become a lot less difficult to manage. I enjoyed reading about the weddings they have to organize. I loved the gorgeous dresses, the interesting locations and creative solutions to stay within a small budget. Katie Fforde combines this with handsome men and many surprising twists and turns. A Vintage Wedding is a great sweet and romantic story.

Advice

If you love reading about weddings, small countryside villages and heartwarming friendship A Vintage Wedding would be a great choice.

  9. The cover piccy of the lavender field is lovely - we live not far away from an organic perfume maker & I can smell the lavender from here!
