Book Review - Long Hot Summer by Victoria Purman

Review by Suze

Hannie is living at her aunt's property. She doesn't pay much rent, which gives her a chance to set up her own business, and in exchange she's looking after her aunt while also taking care of the property. Bush fires are always a risk, but living in the beautiful Adelaide Hills is worth it, Hannie loves her home. Fortunately a firefighter is living next door. Hannie used to have a huge crush on her neighbor Dylan, but because of difficult circumstances they never had a chance together. They now regularly see each other again. Will their love rekindle?

Long Hot Summer is an amazing sweet and sexy story. I immediately liked Hannie. She's artistic, smart and capable. She also has a good heart and is always willing to help people out. Dylan is a great firefighter and he's always keeping an eye on things, his sense of duty never stops. That makes him an admirable person. Victoria Purman writes about his job in a fantastic interesting way. Her main characters are beautiful inside and out. There are plenty of sparks between Hannie and Dylan and there's also a deep connection, which I liked a lot.

Long Hot Summer has a stunning setting. Victoria Purman's descriptions of the Adelaide Hills are vivid and she's making them come to life incredibly well. She gives plenty of information about fires and how to deal with them, which made the story realistic as well as romantic. Everything comes together in a gripping and very fitting ending. I read this story in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. Long Hot Summer is hot, endearing and wonderful.

Advice

If you love sexy romantic stories about men in uniform you will definitely like Long Hot Summer. It's the third story in the Hot Aussie Knights series, but can easily be read as a standalone.
