My bookshelves are organised by genre. I have shelves for fantasy, and some for contemporary. Genres cannot be mixed unless books are relatively the same size, and I have no other room for them. In that case, I will make an exception. I also like to jump to the end of a book and read the last page, just so I know how it's all going to end.
Even though I read ebooks, I still prefer print books. I love the feel of a hard copy and I don't have to worry about battery life while reading. My books are arranged by author in separate sections for hard covers and paperbacks.
Many late nights turn in to the wee hours of morning to finish a book. The next thing I know it's time to get up and go to work!
I prefer paperbacks we pass books around the family members
I can be found in the bookstores and supermarkets smelling the books before I buy. I have a kindle but prefer to have a real book. My kids will wander away from me when I am 'looking' at books.
I prefer a real in the hand book to an ebook any day, though I do have an ereader however I haven't used that in about 4 yrs.
I always need to sneak a peek at the last page of a book while reading *hangs head in shame* and I never ever read more than a book at a time (let's call in monogamous reading, haha).
I do organise my books by author and genre too. Most of my books are about natural history so all the bird, insect, plant books are together etc. The bottom shelf is for the large books.
hum i can only read books one at a time even if it's not in teh same language i need to finish teh one started before starting another
My book are organised by date I bought them. I love buying and reading paperback. Nobody is allowed to touch my bookshelves without my permission 😊
My reading quirks are still evolving. I always read the blurb before I started reading eben if I've read it before but in tje last couple of years I am reading more and more on my tablet and actually have to make an effort to read the print books next to my bed so blurbs aren't something I do much anymore and I miss it!
I always want more books, even though I currently own more than I can read in a lifetime. Is that a quirk? :)
I like to make my own picture bookmarks, and I use a different one whether it is handmade or otherwise every time I start a new book, I also like to organize my books from little to big.
My bookish quirk is avoiding watching the film version for the book- I avoid seeing the chosen cast and the trailers as well.
I prefer to read a paper book instead of an ebook. I only read one book at a time.
My quirk is reading books by season. Like I want to read the Night Circus, but I'm saving it for the fall/Winter.
I love bookmarks, I have a huge collection and I love making my own!
I love making bookmarks even if I already have enough for an entire class. I like my books arranged in a height basis and the ones I like are on the part of the shelf that is eye catching.
I do love my Kindle but I will always love print books the most. I love to smell them. LOL And I keep my favorite rereads right next to my bed.
If I don't like a book I still make myself read the whole book cause I still need to find out what happens at the end :)
I guess my only quirk is if I start a book and in the first 5-10 pages ,even if I believe I will like the story , the writing is not good for me I can stop and never finish the book.....
I hate a series of books, I prefer the beginning and ending in one book
If I'm eating whilst reading I can only read light comedy or chicklit....I save the heavier stuff for when I have no food!
I collect bookmarks :)
I have to read a series in order and never read the end.
I have to read series in order and I'm fussy about bookmarks and have to use sticky notes sometimes as they're easier!
I do not like when people fold the pages of my books!! When i'm going buy them or going to the library i smell the books!!I love the smell of new books!!
My bookish quirk, as I'm told, is my lower lip trembles as I read. I'm saying the words without opening my mouth or using my voice. I can't control it. LOL
New books go with me to bed for their first night at home.weird quirky I know am sooo weird
I always read the last sentence of the book I read. Or the last chapter. Or the last page. I just can't stop!
I don't really have any bookish quirks that I know of.
I can't reread series out of order
I hate it, when I notice that I´ve started a series in the middle. I have to read a series in order.
I am a member of www.readitswapit.co.uk any book worms should take a look, its really good and can save you money
A bookish quirk I have is that I do not bend, fold or destroy any paper cover of a hardback copy of a book. I loaned a book to a friend once, who instantly took off the paper cover, folded it, and shoved it in the back of the book! I wanted to scream LOL. Needless to say, she did NOT get any more of my books to read!! lol
I have a habit of starting a new book before finishing the last one. A bookmark has been known to remain in a book for a long time when I have got bored of reading the book.
I don't know of any, haha!mia2009(at)comcast(dot)net
I can spend over an hour in a bookstore and leave empty-handed.My bookshelves are organized first according to publisher, then alphabetically by author last name, and then in the order of publication date. Apparently, I like to be complicated. Sometimes, if I’m unsure if I’ll like a book, I will check it out of the library to avoid the commitment of buying it. If I end up loving it, I’ll buy my own copy.
Always use your library, saves a lot of hassle
Oh I have to say my quirk...is browsing the book section everytime I go the grocery store!!!
Compulsive reading, eating and reading, loooong bookstore browses.
Wow would love to win fingers crossed 😏
I have none. Lol, just kidding. I buy way too much books. It's an exuse that I'll have them to read when I grow older :)
I have to be lying down to read. That's why I mostly read at night. I get headaches from looking down otherwise. Love autumn. :-)
If I become interested in a subject I have to read everything there is about it until there's nothing else I can find and then I can move on to something else.
I keep getting more and more of them real books and e-books have to kindles so far just to hold all my e-books .
