  1. I must admit that I often do judge a book by its cover (I know that what's inside counts, but I like my books to be pretty too, haha) and I am especially fond of illustrated cover designs which you often find with cozy mysteries of chick-lit (like the ones above actually).

  2. I confess. I do! But I've also picked up great books that had the worst covers. I'm drawn to cozy mystery covers, creepy covers, and whimsical ones that just intrigue me.

  3. When you want to lose yourself for a couple of hours, read the books written by these two fabulous authors. Real life is not as fun as the stories in their books.

  4. I sure do. :-P But I also consider the author and the blurb, but the first thing that catches my eye is the cover. I love pretty covers, usually with a couple, I love romances. But depends on the book and the vibe of it.

  5. I always pay attention to book covers, apart form the blurb, it's what draws my attention to a book. I like covers with eye catching colours, bold text and a strong background.

  6. I admit I do tend to be attracted by the covers. Although authors and recommendations also come into it. I am attracted to light flowery cover or beach themes. I am not so keen on dark covers.

  7. Sometimes I judge a book by its cover when browsing in a bookstore, but I read the book blurb before making a purchase. I like a variety of covers including bold colors and romantic themes.

  8. A cover can attract me but I always read the back of the book to see if I want to read it. I like colourful covers

  9. Cover design is what draws us to a particular book over another. My favourite designs are dark, stark & sinister, much like the novels themselves!

  12. Agree with Kate Sarsfield, the cover draws your attention, the title is secondary. An interesting cover design will make you read the blurb on the back cover.

  18. Yes I do judge a book by their cover. I love beach scenes when reading contemporary romance. I like covers with handsome men when reading historical romance and the men must have dark hair.lol

  19. Always, I'm drawn to the cover first and tend to go for the same type, hand drawn modern chick lit looking covers much like the books in this giveaway

  20. Yeah, I totally judge books by their covers at times. I try not to though, since I know they rarely tell me much about the quality of the writing. I'm starting to be drawn to more minimalist covers; art or photography that's simple and elegant.

  21. Covers atract me, I won't lie. I love pretty covers, with colors, nice fonts on the titles. But that's just initially, sometimes I see a pretty book and then I look it up on GR and then I decide if I want to read it, but sometimes I do buy pretty books on impulse, especially for my favorite books.

  22. I try not to but I totally do. I'm attracted to darker covers with bold titles.

  24. Gosh yes. If I am drawn to the cover, I can bring a book home from the library without even reading the back. I do love Christmas covers and the ones with the big houses on the front. Not to mention "hot guys" too.

  25. I look at the cover but I like to read the description of the book to give me a good idea of what it's about. From that I will decide if the book peaks my interest.

  26. Have to say i judge a book by its cover to the more attractive it is the more its likely to get my attention. If it has a cat on the cover im sold!

  27. It's terrible to say, but I do. It certainly helps to peak my interest in a book.

  28. I am a cover girl. If it looks terrible to me, I am likely to not read the book. Not good, but the truth.

  42. I do! I actually don't even read the title on books that I don't like the cover. The covers that attract me are the happy and romantic ones with bright or pastel colors like the ones on the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Never do, cover is only attracts your first attention but then I read the description :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'd like to say that I don't but I do. Not the ones that I like, it's the ones that I don't. I really don't like those to pumped up guys on the covers.

  45. I do judge a book by its cover, they need to be professional but I get annoyed with profile pictures which don't match the hair colour / length / clothing style of the MC they are portraying
