  5. I have many favourite authors, but since this question asks for one favourite author, I'll go ahead and say, Stephen King because he's the father of descriptive writing and his plots leave you in awe.

  6. Chris Carter is my favourite. He writes a great crime thriller, which is sometimes scary (stalkerish - The Night Stalker and the end of one chapter is scary lol), a bit gory but he also has characters you can almost see in your mind what they would look like and you look forward to reading his next one. I read One By One in ONE day as I couldn't put it down.

  9. My favorite author is Diana Gabaldon. I am completely in love with her Outlander series! The characters/situations are vividly written and always fascinating, not to mention all the historical facts that are woven into the story. For a history buff like me, that is always a treat!

  10. One of my favourite authors is Elizabeth Hay. The way she writes is trusted and true. I love her ability to show her characters' emotional landscape and the way she reveals the nature of relationships in her novels.

  12. I have two favorite authors. Jane Austen is my all time favorite because I am a romance reader from the beginning of my reading career, but when I first read Anne Rice's Lestat books I think I fell in love with the vampire book. I still read both and I re-read Pride & Prejudice every year and Interview With A Vampire when I can find the time.

  13. Since I love paranormal romance and urban fantasy, Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors. Her Dark Hunter series has intriguing stories, complex characters and fascinating world building.

  24. I have a few but I'll say one of them is Karen White. Her books pull you into each and every story. Every time I pick up one of her books I'm reading it in one sitting. It never fails.I lover her characters.

  29. Such an extremely difficult question to answer, I think perhaps Stephen King is my favourite, such complex and exciting novels and always with an unexpected twist in them, very compelling reading.

  30. I have lots like Nora Roberts and Wendy Lou Jones for Romance and Dean Koontz for thrillers but when I found Stephen King I was hooked so he would have to be my ultimate fave ......I'm his biggest fan :)

  33. Gerald Durrell; his early books are about when he was an animal collector for zoos; they are hilarious, the madcap adventures and oddball folk he encountered. He was one of the first to air the need for captive breeding as vast areas of wild places around the world were being destroyed by man.
