Ella is on the way to her family to celebrate her birthday and Christmas Eve. She doesn't make it there though, because of a blizzard that prevents her from going further. Instead she ends up at The Starlight Inn. There she meets Tillie, an old lady who generously offers to share her room with Ella. Nick runs the inn together with his sister and Tillie is one of their most respected guests. She's a little bit mysterious and she's always in the right place at the right time offering solutions. When she discovers the sparks between Nick and Ella she gives them a little push, so they might have a chance together, even when there are obstacles in their way.

The Starlight Inn is a magical place and I immediately loved it. It's warm and welcoming and it's like Ella is exactly where she belongs, while she's in a place she ended up by accident. Tillie is like an angel, every time she's there things start to go exactly right. She spreads love and joy and I loved that aspect of the story. There's a beautiful connection between Nick and Ella and they obviously belong together. I couldn't wait to find out if their short time together would be enough for them to take a chance on each other and liked the part Tillie plays in bringing them together. I loved their personalities and really enjoyed reading about them.

Starlight Inn is a Christmas story, but as it reads like a fairytale and it's such a special and romantic story it can and should be read at any time of the year. I immediately fell in love with the gorgeous setting, the kindhearted main characters and Lucie Ulrich's spellbinding writing style. I absolutely adored this sweet and charming holiday romance.

Advice

If you love Christmas fairytales and if you like to be enchanted, Starlight Inn would be a great choice.
