With Love for Romantic Books Warm: Wedding Night With the Earl by Amelia Grey - Book Review & Giveaway

Review by Suze

The death of Adam's wife and baby broke his heart. He's still young, but never wants to marry again. His handsomeness and his new title as the Earl of Greyhawke make him an attractive candidate for many women, but he doesn't want any of them. He isn't interested in being part of society and going to balls to meet a woman who can give him an heir. Faith has different plans though, when he vows never to fall in love again he meets a woman who makes his heart beat faster. Katherine is the niece of a duke and many men want to marry her because of her uncle's title and her generous dowry, but she doesn't want to settle for a business match, she wants to marry a man she actually loves. It's too bad that the man she likes isn't interested in a lifelong commitment and the clock is ticking. There's another man who would love to spend his future with her and Katherine only has a short time to make a choice. Will she accept or will she wait for a man she might never have?

Wedding Night With the Earl is a wonderful romantic story. Adam is a man who feels deeply. He doesn't care what people think of him, he does whatever he wants and he isn't afraid to cause a scandal. Because of what he's been through he can't be bothered with a lot of social customs. Katherine doesn't forget her etiquette, but she also has a certain spark and cheekiness. She challenges him and that's exactly what he needs. They have intelligent conversations filled with longing, unexpected feelings and confessions. Adam wants Katherine to be the best she can be, which is incredibly sweet. He follows his heart and acts on impulse. Katherine has been mollycoddled by her family all her life and Adam tries to make her do things that are out of her comfort zone, while in return she has a healing capacity. It's clear from the start that there's a connection between them, they have plenty of chemistry and there's an easy understanding. They instinctively know what the other one needs, which is something I really loved about their story.

Amelia Grey writes about people who aren't perfect and I instantly fell in love with that aspect of her story. Katherine walks with a cane and Adam is afraid of feeling too much because of the pain it can cause. I loved how they become stronger people because of everything they had to endure and overcome. It makes them more aware of what life is offering and what they want for their futures. I liked the way Amelia Grey gives her characters depth. Their determination and strength is admirable and it gives the story an amazing allure.

Wedding Night With the Earl is a story about the ton and the richness and splendor that comes with being part of it. Amelia Grey's descriptions of stunning dresses, interesting dinner conversations and fabulous chance meetings are vivid and entertaining to read. Adam and Katherine don't act like the rest of their social circle, they are freer in their opinions and actions and they try to live instead of just exist. I enjoyed reading their dialogue, which is fun and flirty. Their banter made me smile plenty of times. I liked everything about this lovely lighthearted story. Wedding Night With the Earl is a fabulous enchanting book.

Interview

1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

I am happily married to my best friend. I am a girly girl who loves colorful flowers, delicate lace, and bright, warm sunshine. I like to wear dresses and heels with my makeup on and my hair curled. I like to laugh. I enjoy reading. I love to travel to see the wonders of the world. I’ve been to Europe, Great Brittan, Russia, Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, and many other countries as well most every state in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.

2. What makes your heart beat faster?

When my husband surprises me by doing or saying something wonderful and unexpected, when I ride a roller coaster, and when I watch a scary movie.

 3. If you could create the perfect romantic day what would it look like?

A gorgeous sunny day sitting with my husband under an umbrella on the beach watching the waves of the beautiful emerald green waters rush onto the shore. So peaceful, relaxing, and romantic.

4. Who is your favorite romantic couple?

I know it didn’t end happily but I still love Romeo and Juliette. Against huge odds they struggled to be together hoping that love could conquer all. I loved the couple in The Gift of the Magi because of the couple’s unselfish love for each other.

5. Could you describe what romance means to you?

To me romance is the building of tension in anticipation of sex. It’s holding hands, sweet smiles, candlelight, a low-burning fire, gentle conversation. Whatever sets the mood of a loving atmosphere.

 6. Do you find it difficult to write about romance?

Not at all. I enjoy it.

7. What kind of music do you like to listen to when you're in a romantic mood?

Classical. I love it!

 8. What can we expect from you in the future?

My first book in the Rake of St. James trilogy is titled LAST NIGHT WITH THE DUKE, published March 7. Here is the blurb of the story.

Could finding love be his greatest scandal of all?

The Duke of Griffin has never lived down his reputation as one of the Rakes of St. James. Now rumors are swirling around London that his twin sisters may bear the brunt of his past follies. Hiring a competent chaperone is the only thing Griffin has on his mind--until he meets the lovely and intriguing Miss Esmeralda Swift. In ways he could never have expected, she arouses more than just his curiosity.

Esmeralda Swift considered herself too sensible to ever fall for a scoundrel, but that was before she met the irresistibly seductive Duke of Griffin. His employment offer proves too tempting for her to resist. She can’t afford to be distracted by his devilish charms because the stakes are so high for his sisters’ debut Season. . .unless one of London’s most notorious rakes has had a change of heart and is ready to make Esmeralda his bride in Last Night with the Duke, the first novel in the brand-new Regency Rakes of St. James series by New York Times bestselling author Amelia Grey.

My second book in the Rakes of St. James trilogy is titled TO THE DUKE, WITH LOVE. It will be published in December 2017. Here is a short summary of the story.

To The Duke, With Love

The Duke of Hawksthorn is guardian for his eighteen-year-old sister who is set to make her debut in the spring. But due to circumstances involving Hawk’s misguided past he’s hoping to avoid the Season by securing a match for her before it begins. He has the perfect man in mind, a gentle soul he feels certain will be a good match for his sweet sister.

When Hawk goes to see the chap, he encounters Miss Loretta Quick instead. She’s witty, gorgeous, and clearly not the least bit enchanted by him. Had he not been so intrigued he might have been insulted. He's even more surprised when he learns that the fiery female is that "gentle soul's" sister. And the more he gets to know her, the more he is determined to have her. But Hawk soon discovers the miss has a mind of her own as she manages to undermine his every tactic to arrange a match between their siblings. She also makes it clear she will do everything in her power to challenge his attempts to win her affection.

Miss Loretta Quick barely escaped a dastardly arranged marriage to a Viscount by her tyrannical uncle. Now the irritatingly and captivating Duke of Hawksthorn shows up at her door seeking out another sort of arranged union - this time between her beloved brother and the duke's sister. Determined that she and her brother should be able to make their own choices and marry for love or not at all, she promises the duke she will do everything within her power to protect her brother from a marriage arranged by a scoundrel duke waving money and prestige in front of him.

Loretta also learns that she must protect more than just her brother when she realizes she's losing her own heart to the rakish duke.
