Sasha is back in Berkeley County and it's her first time in ten years. She finally manages to return to her mother's inn and she's there to stay. She had a good reason to leave. She's the only girl who escaped the Groom, a crazy serial killer who captured her and held her hostage until she managed to get away. Sasha left the nightmares of her hometown behind and started over somewhere else. She kept in touch with her mother and her best friends, but was too broken to keep the relationship with her boyfriend Cole going.
Sasha lost a lot because of the Groom, but hopes a new start will make her feel at home again now that she's back where she feels she belongs. From the moment she arrives, however, bad things are happening to her. Fortunately Cole isn't a helpless bystander this time. He's an FBI agent and has sworn to protect her. He still loves Sasha and hopes that by spending time with her she will let him make up for the mistakes he thinks he made in the past. Unfortunately he can't be by her side all day. Will he indeed be able to keep Sasha safe this time, when something sinister is happening to her once more?
Sasha is a kindhearted woman with an admirable amount of willpower and determination. She's incredibly strong and resilient and she can stand up for herself. That doesn't mean she doesn't have scars though. The Groom is still very much alive in her nightmares and he haunts most of her nights. What Sasha went through is heartbreaking and very scary and Jennifer L. Armentrout makes her world come alive in such a vivid manner that I was genuinely spooked.
The relationship between Sasha and Cole ended when she left both him and Berkeley County behind her. Cole doesn't want to let Sasha get away again and he tries to be there for her when she needs him. I immediately loved his chivalrous nature. He's with her whenever he can, but it's when he is away Sasha is constantly in danger. Someone is keeping a close eye on her and nothing is as it seems. Who is after her and why? This is a question that's there from the beginning of the novel until the very end. Slowly the truth comes to light in a fabulous creepy way. I liked the combination of romance and suspense and think this book has both in equal measure.
Jennifer L. Armentrout writes about feelings in a beautiful intimate way. It gives me the indea I'm very close to her main characters when I'm reading one of her novels and that's what I enjoy the most about them. It's like being inside their minds, being able to listen to their thoughts, see what they see and hear what they hear. I love that aspect of her stories. This made Till Death a compelling and thrilling story for me. It's a fantastic emotional rollercoaster filled with danger, true love and secrets.
Till Death would be a great choice for readers who like gripping stories that still manage to surprise them at the end while there aren't many suspects.
