Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café is a lovely little place where people come for delicious food made with organic locally sourced ingredients. Millie's cakes are incredible and she has many regular customers who love sampling whatever she makes. When a large chain opens a much larger café that's direct competition for Millie she doesn't know what to do. Money is tight already and now she has another business with much more financial backing to go up against. Will Millie be able to keep her café open?

Running a café while there's plenty of competition is difficult, but Millie discovers that there are quite a few people who love her enough to help her. She's also met someone she'd like to spend more time with. Jed is a businessman and what he does exactly is a bit of a mystery, but he becomes a regular guest at Millie's café. He gives Millie advice whenever he can, but she still doesn't know much about him. Can Millie trust him?

Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café is a wonderful place to read about. I instantly fell in love with Millie's mismatched crockery and gorgeous cakes and the café's beautiful view and lovely homely atmosphere. Millie is a real sweetheart and she has a friendly word for everyone. Her café is as special as Millie herself. She always makes time for her regular customers and she loves dogs as much as people. She's a fantastic main character and I really enjoyed reading about her.

Georgia Hill writes about a dreamy café at the beach. Her descriptions of the interior are vibrant and colorful and she writes about food in such a mouthwatering way that I could almost taste Millie's cakes, soups and chocolate milk. Spring Beginnings is as delightful as the cakes Georgia Hill writes about, the story is good enough to devour. I read it in one sitting and the emotional ending made me want to read more straight away. It's a terrific start of the Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Café series and I highly recommend it.
