Vivienne misses her mother very much, she passed away after a long sickbed. Just before she became ill Vivienne's mother married a rich earl. Vivienne is now destined to live with her stepfather, who's almost a stranger. He doesn't have many callers, but fortunately Vivienne has her best friend Sophie and her brother Crispin, who are like siblings to her. Vivienne is taking over her mother's charity work, but also wants a project of her own. She knows exactly what she's going to do, reform Max, the owner of The Underworld, which is a popular scandalous gambling hall. Is this really such a good plan?

The Den of Iniquity is an entertaining story about a lady who's going to reform a scoundrel. Vivienne is smart and curious and she's clearly her own woman. She wants to live instead of just exist and I loved that about her. Max is being consumed by feelings of hatred. His mother was murdered and he wants to get revenge, so he's chasing her attackers. Vivienne is all light and positive emotions while Max is dark and moody. He thinks she's too good for him, but she doesn't agree with this. She brings back a side of Max that he thought he'd lost and that was a great thing to witness.

Anabelle Bryant writes about lords and ladies, murderers, scoundrels, money and propriety like it's something she's witnessed herself and I loved that about The Den of Iniquity. The story is fun with plenty of interesting twists and turns. The main characters have amazing chemistry and there are plenty of hot scenes. Vivienne is inexperienced and Max is very experienced, which isn't a new theme, but Anabelle Bryant gives it a fabulous twist.

The Den Of Iniquity is a fast-paced enjoyable read. Anabelle Bryant's writing has a nice flow and I love that the language she uses has an old-fashioned atmosphere, but is still easy to read. It was amazing to read about London in the past. Anabelle Bryant vividly describes the past of many familiar streets, which is something I liked a lot. The Den of Iniquity is a wonderful start of a new series. It's well written, lively and sexy.
