  1. The Other Side of the Mountain by Fiona Cane. This book was beautiful. From the setting - I felt I'd been to Haiti - to the incredible three main women, each with their own failings and triumphs, to the gorgeous prose. The three stories - more really! - were wonderful woven together, with some heart-wrenching revelations. You can tell this one was written from the heart, and it will stay in mine a long time.

  3. Well it was published in October 2015 but it was only after reading Suze's review that I bought it. It was beautifully written, the language was so evocative I might as well have been on the road trip myself! Thoroughly enjoyed it & gave it a 5* rating on Goodreads. Thanks Suze :)

  46. If I must pick a favorite from 2016, it is Bloodrunner Bear by T. S. Joyce.

I fell in love with the main character when he showed up in a previous book and in this one it's about 25 years later and he's all grown up. I liked that even though the first book had a HEA, she isn't afraid to still let her characters go through things. And Aaron had been through the wringer.
