  4. I have many favourite authors, but since this question asks for one favourite author, I'll go ahead and say, Stephen King because he's the father of descriptive writing and his plots leave you in awe.

  6. I tend to go through 'phases' when I read everything I can get my hands on by a certain author. So anyone from classics such as DH Laurence, Orwell, Dickens & Hardy to contemporary authors such as Iain Banks, Edna O'Brien, Douglas Adams and Tana French. It just depends on the mood I'm in!

  15. I started reading Anne Rice many many years ago and fell in love with her Lestat books. I think I have read everything she wrote. Now, there are so many good authors that I enjoy, in so many genres, it would take pages to list my favorites!!!

  23. James Patterson is my favorite author. I started out reading his adult books series and found myself getting through them rather quickly. So I then started to read his other book series and caught up with them quickly as well. Then I decided to read other books and started to really love reading. I'm thankful for James Patterson for helping me read more and building my love for books.

  24. I can't decide, but I've always loved Robin Hobb's novels as they're detailed and interesting and have dragons in them lol!!

  27. I always love to read books by Stephen King :) He writes with a passion for horror and scary things. It's like being in his mind of nightmares when you read his books. The stories he writes keep you in suspense and always have a twist in them that you weren't expecting :)

  33. I have many favorite authors but the one that does stick out is Juliet Marillier. I read Daughter of the Forest when I was in high school, it's the main reason I started reading fantasy. Fantasy is my favorite genre :):)

  49. It's impossible to narrow it down to just one. My top authors are probably Ilona Andrews, Jeaniene Frost, Karen Moning, and Nalini Singh. The all write wonderful urban fantasy/PNR stories and characters.

    My favorite author is (deceased) Betty MacDonald of 'The Egg and I' fame. Her semi-autobiographies were so rich in detail and immersive, so full of humor & happiness that those books remain as treasured friends on my bookshelves and in my heart <3

  65. I don't have only one favorite author but I love A. G. Howard because she can create unique and amazing worlds and characters through her books. I also love Jennifer L. Armentrout, I really like the way she writes. And Colleen Hoover is my favorite author in romance because her stories are so beautiful and special!

  66. I like James Patterson. His stories always entertain me and with the short chapters, it's easy to keep reading "just one more" and end up reading for another hour or so before you realize you haven't stopped.
