  1. I usually read between 30 and 40 books per year. I have never taken part in a reading channel, although I have thought about it. I go through stages of maybe only reading one book a month, and then I might read 8 or 9 depending on how much free time I have and how much I'm enjoying the books. A reading challenge would make me feel that I HAD to read and I prefer to read at my own pace, purely for pleasure!

  2. I don't really take part in challenges, I'm not sure why :) I usually read quite a few books a year but this year I have not .

  13. I read approximately 30 per year. I do the Goodreads challenge but never set too high a goal but I don't do any others that challenge me to read certain types of books. I just read what I enjoy

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  16. I try to read a book every 1-2 days, so I probably average 200 a year. No challenges for me, I don't think I need them, do you?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I probably read around 60 books a year. I don't take part in challenges I prefer to read at my own leisure :)

    ReplyDelete

  19. Hard to say, but perhaps about 50-60 in a year. Some challenges I do, some I don´t. It depends on what the challenge is and if I feel that I have the time for it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I read very slowly, not by choice, (have eye problems). I'd say per year maybe 10 long books and about 20 short books. No I don't do challenges; I read for pleasure, not as a competition. I read what I want to read, and when I want to read, not dictated by any outside source. That was school and I'm not in school any more, lol

    ReplyDelete
  24. I read about 2-3 books a week... so whats that 150 a year? ish! I don't do challenge, but then, I haven't really thought about it xx

  27. I typically read 90+ books a year and set my challenge at 100 this year. Unfortunately, this year with an unfortunate personal event in my life and now my new job at the library, I've had a bit less time to read. I'm only at 56 so far. I don't feel pressured by the challenges. I mostly like to see how my friends are doing.

  35. I've just started reading again after a 6 year hiatus. That's what happens when you have triplets! I still only get about 30 minutes before bed so no challenges for me unless the challenge is to finish one book a year ;)

    Thanks for giving.

  50. I honestly couldn't say how many books I read per year as it differs so much as to how much free time I get to read them. I don't join challenges or set myself targets because I only read for pleasure and to learn about things so rushing through books just to make a tally doesn't make sense - at least to me personally.

    ReplyDelete

  53. Yes, I love taking part of challenges. I don't know - I love to read, I read every day and why not make it fun and challenging :) I started with reading 120 books per year and this year I've already doubled the score. I think I'll read around 300 books.

  54. I cut-and-pasted the wrong phrase into the "Comment on a review" part of the Rafflecopter today; it should say A BRIGHTER FEAR. Sometimes I'll take part in a challenge if it coincides with my summer reading (when I'm already committing to a large number of books), or with what I'm reading anyway!

  76. I having phases of reading but do it to please myself rather than as a challenge and probably read 30 books a year.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Usually well over a hundred, though I have read less this year because I've been trying to catch up on sleep! I am awful for "just one more chapter..". I've never taken part in challenges, purely because the thought never really occurred to me!

    ReplyDelete
