Piper has a fantastic job. She can travel for free and has the chance to visit the most beautiful locations. For her next assignment the magazine she's working for sends her to Juniper Island where she's supposed to review a hotel that offers a complete and unique Christmas experience. When Piper arrives the owners are hard at work to make their holiday destination the most perfect place they can think of to visit for the holidays. What Piper didn't expect when she accepted her assignment is that the owner would be the man who broke her heart when she was seventeen.
Gabe's a single dad. He owns several hotels and Juniper Island is his new home. He wants his daughter Wren to grow up with as much freedom and safety as possible. When he sees his childhood best friend Pip his whole world is being turned upside down. He was devastated when she left without a word when they were teenagers and she's the last person he wanted to see, but maybe it isn't so bad that they finally have a chance to talk. Will they get a second chance with one another or is it too late for them to ever become close again?
Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky is an incredibly sweet winter story. I immediately fell in love with the main characters. Piper, or Pip as Gabe is used to call her, is kind and caring. She's a strong woman who has been through a lot. She hasn't felt wanted by anyone in her life and reading about her past brought tears to my eyes. Everybody will wish happiness to someone like her and I couldn't wait to find out what the future would have in store for her. Gabe is a truly good and gentle man who feels deeply. I loved his protective nature and admired the way he wants to do things in a beneficial way for everyone around him. He's a person who makes a difference. His daughter Wren is adorable. I loved the way she speaks and Holly Martin made me smile every time I read about the adventures of the little girl. Gabe also has two protective siblings who are both great. I enjoyed reading about every single character.
Holly Martin manages to combine romance and humor in a terrific balanced way. Her writing flows easily and it's always hard to put her books down because they are so wonderful. Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky is no exception, it's an amazing heartwarming book. I loved the festive atmosphere of Juniper Island. It's such an enchanting place and I kept wishing it would be real. I loved Holly Martin's vivid descriptions of the hotel and the village. She made it come to life very well and I immediately felt the magic a good Christmas novel should have, this novel has it in abundance. Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky is a book that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, I absolutely loved this brilliant Christmas story and highly recommend it.
