Interview

1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m Australian, so I wrestle with all sorts of wildlife on a regular basis. I’m only kidding, it’s not as bad as people think. I developed a love for writing early on in life. I enjoy reading just as much. I’m also a mum to two extremely hyper boys that entertain me, make me laugh and want to tear my hair out.

2. What kind of books do you bring with you when you go on holiday?

I am a sucker for romance. I also love reading horror.

 3. If you could spend a sunny day anywhere how would your perfect day look like?

The beach, a towel, a book or two, a notebook and pen and lots of coffee…maybe fresh juice (*cough* cocktail) too and definitely some chocolate.

 4. Could you tell us about your hobbies (when you are not writing or reading)?

Spending time at the beach or in the bush. I love hanging with my loved ones, baking, staying active. I’m pretty passionate about Endometriosis awareness as well.

 5. Where do you find the inspiration for your stories?

Inspiration can literally spark from anywhere or anything. Vague conversation between people I don’t know, news bulletins, casual observations.

 6. If you could be any leading character from a bestselling book, who would you be and why?

I think this was a bestseller at some point, I really like Josie from Looking for Alibrandi. It is an Australian novel that was part of the curriculum in the final year of high school. She was also in her final year of high school and finding out who she was. Her self-discovery was a fun journey and even though she didn’t feel it, she was strong.

 7. What's your favorite reading spot?

My couch or the chair in my courtyard when it’s warm enough.

 8. What is your favorite holiday destination and what do you like so much about it?

When I travel it’s usually just over to Melbourne. I then drive to my hometown after seeing family in Melbourne and country Victoria. It’s such pretty scenery. Most of my ‘travel’ has been moving rather than holidaying. I’ve lived in most states in Australia. Besides Perth where I live now, the tropics has been my favourite. The reason for this is simple, cold weather and me do not mix and you don’t get winter at all up there.

 9. Do you have any advice for authors who would like to write a sunny story?

Aim for humour. Never underestimate wit. The best stories are ones that have made me laugh and cry.

 10. What can we expect from you in the future?

I’m still working on my zombie novel, also a historical romance featuring some very sentimental poetry and I have just started a little side project I intend to make a mini-series. Nothing like a mixed bag! I will also be releasing one more novel in the All The Colours series.
