About Helen J. Rolfe
My English teacher at school told me to never give up on my dream of becoming a writer. Somehow I ended up with a business degree and a job as a computer programmer, but I never forgot her wise words and encouragement.
In August 2000 I answered my call to adventure and headed to Australia where I ended up living for fourteen years. I made my home in Melbourne for just over nine of those years and in 2003 I left the I.T. industry and began my writing career as a freelancer.
After a relocation to Sydney and with more time on my hands once the kids started school, I continued freelancing for women's health and fitness magazines, I studied four units of a Masters in Writing and finally I realised that all I wanted to do was become an author.
Australia will always hold a special place in my heart but in 2014 the pull of family brought us back to the UK to live, and we have relocated to Hertfordshire.
Aside from writing and reading, my passions include yoga and Pilates, chocolate and a good measure of Baileys on ice :-)

Books in the Magnolia Creek Series
1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I've been writing since 2011 and have four books published now. I was originally in the world of I.T. but now I can't believe I ever thought of doing anything other than writing!
2. What kind of books do you bring with you when you go on holiday?
Women's fiction or chick lit ... anything that isn't scary or violent. I love a good emotional read that tugs at the heartstrings.
3. If you could spend a sunny day anywhere how would your perfect day look like?
It would be in Melbourne walking around Albert Park Lake, then I'd sit beneath a tree and read a book, have lunch in one of the little cafes in the village. Bliss...
4. Could you tell us about your hobbies (when you are not writing or reading)?
I love Pilates and Yoga. I used to run and go to the gym but I'm finding I'm sore after those sorts of activities, and not in a good way. I love the strength that comes from yoga especially and I always have a spring in my step after a Pilates session.
5. Where do you find the inspiration for your stories?
All around me...the places I go, the people I meet. I have lots of ideas and keep them in a file.
6. If you could be any leading character from a bestselling book, who would you be and why?
Allie from The Notebook. I think her love story with Noah is so beautiful.
7. What's your favorite reading spot?
Anywhere! But I love to read outside with the sun shining, as long as I'm cool and fairly shaded where I'm sitting.
8. What is your favorite holiday destination and what do you like so much about it?
Right now it's Center Parcs! I love how much there is to do there for us and the kids and I sleep really, really well after all that cycling and going down the rapids. I also love that you jump in the car and it's so close and easy to get to.
9. Do you have any advice for authors who would like to write a sunny story?
Choose a setting you love because you're enthusiasm will shine through in your writing.
10. What can we expect from you in the future?
I have two Christmas books planned for release later this year and I'm planning a third book in the Magnolia Creek series which I hope to be out next year, 2017.
