  1. The cover first, it shows me if it looks likes something I might be interested in, and I read the back cover also, it tells me a little more.

  2. The cover needs to look interesting

  3. Some author's books are automatic for me. Then, I guess I judge a book by its cover.

  4. I tend to look for certain authors or am drawn in by the cover.

  5. I think the covers are the first thing to grab my attention and then when I read the covers I get interested even more.

  6. The cover is very important to me. But the reviews are most important, because they will determine if I will read the book or not.

  7. A synopsis of the story, then the author if I've read them before, sometimes the cover. I also buy sequels to series' without seeing the whole cover or reading reviews simply because I want to finish the story :)

  8. The cover is the first thing that attracts me, followed by the synopsis

  9. It depends on the author. For my favorite authors I automatically one-click. But for new/unknown author the blurb is the most important. I am a really picky reader so the plot needs to intrigue me.

  10. I look at the author, because I do read some authors all the time and I also look at the covers, because I am a cover person.

  11. cover first; ignore ugly covers

  12. I see cover first then I read the synopsis and then I look on GoodReads and see if its got good ratings. If it's an author I like I just will read whatever they put out usually.

  14. A great cover catches my attention. I also like the titles! Then, if I like the blurb or online reviews, I will splurge.

  16. The cover! I don´t know why, it should be the inside that counts but I just can´t read a book with a ugly cover. Just seems boring.

  17. The blurb, cover a bit and recommendations - I trust my book friends! :)

  18. I usually choose a book by its author or by an interesting cover.

  19. Always the cover! The cover is the most important bc only when I love the cover I'll actually go and research what is the book about. The only exception is when everyone talks about book, then I'll give it a try even if I don't like the cover, or if the book is from the author I already read books from.

  20. What makes you decide to buy a book (things like blurb, reviews, cover, etc.) and why?

The cover and title draw me in but it's the blurb that will win me over!
if I don't like the synopsis or a blurb ... I'll pass it by

  21. If it's a new author to me, the cover is usually what snags my attention. Otherwise, I go by the blurb. If it sounds good, I'll read it.

  22. I tend to buy books that have covers and authors that I like!

  23. Sometimes it's the covers. If they "call for my atention" then I read the plot to see if it's interesting or not (in my opinion)

  24. I like to read Synopsis, pay attention to news best selling etc, reviews I use a lot of sources to find out about books when I am purchasing. But I do like to give books a try as you never know you may find a good book

  25. First I check the genre and reviews on Goodreads. I read one with a good review and one with a bad one. And than I decide. I do follow blogs that I'm comfortable with (like yours). Covers aren't important to me but I do like them simple, romantic and a bit misterious (hidden faces,...).

  26. It's mostly the blurb, but I am also drawn to beautiful cover designs and I am easily tempted by recommendations from friends.

  27. The cover plays a big part for me. I can choose a book purely on the cover, knowing nothing about the author or subject. And conversely, I can be totally put off a book by a cover that doesn't appeal to me.

  28. I'm an enthusiastic women fiction fan :) The cover and the previous works by the author play a vital role on buying books

  29. I read the description in the back and if it works for me I'll buy it :)

  31. A number of things factor into buying a book - interesting cover, blurb, author, reviews and price. I tend to gravitate towards the free books simply because of a limited budget.

  32. blurb and cover! the blurb is the first I read, but a good cover can make me buy a book too! :) fb name: ΒΑΣΙΛΙΚΗ ΑΡΓΥΡΟΠΟΥΛΟΥ twitter: Vasiliki9280

  34. sometimes the blurb other times the reviews

  35. I am going to say COVER is important - if the cover doesn't call me to a book I wont pick it up to read the intro. Next- the genre - I gravitate to the historical fiction and paranormal for adults (not youth sections)

  36. I'd definitely say the cover and reviews!

    ReplyDelete
  37. The cover first, then the blurb. Then I try the preview on Amazon Kindle. If I like it, I buy it. I don't care too much about the reviews xD

  38. I read trusted book blogger's reviews!

  39. It would be terrific to win eight books.
In response to your question of
What makes you decide to buy a book and why?
When i want to buy books i look for my favourite authors
because i know i like their style of writing.
If a cover catches my eye from an author i don't know i'll pick up the book
and read the synopsis and if it sounds interesting i'll buy it.
Thank you for having this giveaway.

  40. The cover is the first thing that gets my attention and I always feel guilty cos I shouldn't be judging books by their cover, right? :) Then the reviews play a very important part.

  41. >> "What makes you decide to buy a book (things like blurb, reviews, cover, etc.) and why?"

There are so many different factors that might influence my decision to put a book on my wish list-- and believe me, my wish list grows and grows every day! That being said, it's actually not all that often that I am able to purchase a book. I'd love to be able to just scoop up so many different titles, but am currently in financial hardship. What it comes down to is: I will go ahead and purchase a particular book when I simply cannot get it out of my mind, to the point where it almost becomes a nagging frustration!
