ReplyDeleteI just think that it's really nice of the author to make an effort to sign the books. Even if signing one book takes less than 10 seconds, it's the thought that counts. And some even include a short message!

Even thought a signed boo and an unsigned book are exactly the same book I find I've subconsciously taken better care of my signed books for some reason. They're the ones I'm usually most reluctant to lend also.

Congratulations on 5000 Bloglovin' followers!
ReplyDeleteI don't have that many signed books, so they're particularly dear to me. It's partly illusory, but since they have been personally signed by the author, they seem to offer a greater feeling of connection than a regular copy.
WOW 500 followers ~ there's no stopping you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great reviews
Signed books are limited so always special
Signed books mean a lot to me if they are good reads or if they are from good author. I don't have any from my favorite authors but I dream to have signed books by Jane Costello, Lindsey Kalk, Paige Toon, Richelle Mead or Katy McGarry one day.

ReplyDeleteIt would be terrific to win seven paperbacks and one signed book.
ReplyDeleteIn response to your question of
What do signed books mean to you?
Signed books mean that the author took the time to write their name
or a personal message to thank you for reading their book.
Thank you for having this giveaway.
I think that signed books are really special and personal. I would like to have signed books.
ReplyDeleteTwo notes:
ReplyDelete1) I love seeing an author's handwriting, and getting a little peek at the way his/her pen hits the paper.
2) For me, there is a really big difference between a signed book (i.e., "just" with the author's signature, or with a brief note such as "Best Wishes") and one that has been inscribed. I recently received my very first set of two inscribed books and, well, was not at all expecting the reaction that I had! I just stared at the pages, awed by the fact that that was MY NAME! My name, right there. I could go on and on (yes... you know I could :p ) in an effort to describe what it was like, but I think that it's best summed up by this: Indescribable.
P.S. Photo on my Goodreads profile. :)
