About Frayed

Dear Kesley,

My therapist tells me I should write you a letter. Like flushing all my thoughts and feelings out of my system and onto paper. I tell her it's a stupid idea.

But here I am, writing a letter to a dead girl. Where do I start? Where did our story begin? From the moment you were born...or died?

I'll start with the moment I found out the truth about you. Your lies and my pain. Because it always begins and ends with you.
And that end began when Rafe Lawrence came back to town...

Ava Hale will do anything to find her sister's killer...although she'll wish she hadn't. Because the harder Ava looks, the more secrets she uncovers about Kesley, and the more she begins to think that the girl she called sister was a liar. A sneak. A stranger.

And Kesley's murderer could be much closer than she thought...

A debut novel from Wattpad award-winner Kara Terzis, Frayed is a psychological whodunit that will keep you guessing!

Review by Suze

Someone murdered Ava's sister Kesley and Ava misses her very much. Kesley always listened to her and she stood up for Ava when she needed someone to defend her. There are no leads in the investigation and Ava has enough of doing noting. She wants to find out who killed her sister. Only when she starts asking questions she doesn't like the answers she gets. Other people knew a different Kesley, someone mean and cunning with a vicious streak. Everything Ava discovers makes her dislike Kesley a little bit more. With the help of Kesley's friends she chases the clues she needs until eventually she finds out what happened to her sister...

Frayed is a story about two sisters who are very different from each other. Ava is quiet and shy. She often hides behind her hair and she doesn't dare to look people in the eye. Kesley was outspoken and bold. She was popular and everything in her life seemed to be exactly the way she wanted it to be until that fatal night at the lake. Ava always looked up to her sister, but she had no idea who she really was. She only saw what her sister wanted her to see and Kesley had a lot of secrets. I was immediately intrigued by their relationship. I love stories about sisters and Frayed is definitely a good one.

Ava has lost so much and my heart ached for her. She's a sweet and loving girl who trusts too easily. She keeps being hurt and that's something she doesn't deserve. Her sister's best friend Rafe seems to like her for who she is, but she doesn't know if he's being honest with her. She has no idea who she can trust and she can't go to anyone for support, which is heartbreaking. Kara Terzis writes about her in a beautiful empathic way and I liked the intensity of Ava's thoughts and emotions.

I loved the mystery aspect of Frayed. I had my suspicions and couldn't wait to find out if they were right. I read this book in one sitting and loved it from beginning to end. The story has many interesting twists and turns and it's both emotional and gripping. The ending is original and I loved the way Kara Terzis reveals the killer. Frayed is a quick and thrilling read with fascinating main characters and plenty of different layers. I enjoyed reading this book very much and think it's amazing.
