Love comes along when it's least wanted

Jason Guthrie has no time for entanglements—between helping out his widowed brother and teenage nephew and getting his hometown back on its feet, his days are spoken for. But his nights are another story… And when his lovely new neighbor, Honor Brown, reluctantly accepts his help in remodeling her house, Jason finds himself wishing his handyman skills could knock down the defenses she keeps building around herself.

Martial arts teacher Sullivan Dean knows real danger when he sees it—even when it takes the form of the gorgeous blonde helping her friend move in across the street. After putting his wayward past behind him to focus on teaching control to troubled kids, Sullivan has learned to avoid party girls like Lexie Perkins. But Sullivan can't seem to keep his hands off the real woman behind that flirty charm—or keep his heart from landing at her feet…

Honor and Lexie are best friends. When Honor buys a house that needs a lot of love and attention without consulting her first Lexie is stunned. Her friend wants to do everything on her own, but this is a big project to tackle without any help. There's one big perk though, Honor's new neighbors are gorgeous and Lexie can't wait to get to know them better.

Jason has welcomed his brother and his nephew into his home. They lost everything and need a new start. He thinks he's perfectly happy, but then he meets Honor. She completes him and he deeply cares for her, but she's closed off and has built thick walls around her. The only one she has in her life is Lexie and Honor is convinced she shouldn't be a burden to anyone, but by doing that she might lose that what makes her happy. Will she eventually be able to accept Jason's care and attention?

Sullivan is content living on his own. He has a nice house in a neighborhood he likes and his work is everything to him. When he meets Lexie he instantly feels attracted to her. Lexie isn't afraid to speak her mind, she's loud, she's confident and she's really sexy. Sullivan doesn't see her as someone to have a lasting relationship with, but Lexie doesn't give up easily. Will she be able to make him see what she's really like?

Don't Tempt Me is a heartwarming romantic story. I immediately loved Honor's new neighborhood because of the welcoming atmosphere. The men are all helpful and charming and they treat the women with care and respect, which made me fall in love with this story. They're gorgeous, but they're also kind and chivalrous, a perfect combination. Honor is easy to love as well. She's been through a lot and I understood where her reserved attitude came from. I enjoyed reading about the progress she makes and couldn't wait to see if she would get her happy ending. Lexie is a loyal best friend. She's sweet, she stands up for what she believes in and she's a sensitive person. The main characters and the way they feel about each other are the rock-solid foundation that makes this story incredibly strong.

Don't Tempt Me consists of two love stories. The main one is the relationship between Honor and Jason, which is sexy and endearing. Sullivan and Lexie are a bit more raw and they have great chemistry, but they're also vulnerable in some ways. It was fun to read about both couples and I enjoyed the way the romance developed. It really stands out and I can't praise it enough, I found the direction Lori Forster has chosen absolutely wonderful. I often had a big smile on my face while I was reading her story and love her warm and descriptive writing.

Don't Tempt Me is an amazing romantic book. If you're looking for a story that will make you happy you should definitely get this novel. The characters have a deep connection and I loved the sense of belonging they feel because they are finally with the right group of people. Don't Tempt Me lifted my spirits, it's such a fantastic, magnetizing story and I highly recommend it.

  2. Oh, dear! What is it about me that just doesn't find romances appealing? Nevertheless, I'm full of admiration for women who just go for it & live their dream. Keep writing Lori!

  6. I don't usually read heavy romances like this one. I like the fact that the novel has two love stories going.

  11. Hello :) what you say about the novel sounds really good, but I didn't get the feeling I would like the plot too much... It sounds a bit empty and superficial. Maybe I should give it a go?

  13. Brilliant review!
You describe this as a "magnetizing story"-- that alone took my breath away for a brief and beautiful moment.
