  8. I always re-read the Hobbit, followed by the Lord of the Rings books, followed by Watership Down. My parents gave me those books to read on a summer vacation when I was 9 or10 and I like the tradition of reading some of my favorite books in the summer.

  33. Dessen's books. My daughter got me hooked on them when she was younger. We would listen to the audio books on the way to Myrtle Beach and then read her books on the beach.

  68. I think that my favorite "summer read" would be a small stack of my favorite magazines. I say this because I imagine laying out in the backyard or at our picnic table, letting my mind wander as I flip through the magazines that I've been meaning to catch up on. It's an activity that I'd find entertaining, enjoyable, and definitely not a waste of time-- but I wouldn't need to pay very close attention or take it too seriously.
