The Outlander books make great beach reads.
I think Lady Midnight would make a great summer read to enjoy at the beach because it takes place right near a beach lolol
Actually, I don't get to go much to the beach. But as a summer read... something by Colleen Hoover, for sure. Maybe Someday or It Ends With Us (:
Summer Skin by Kirsty Eagar because it's such a great contemporary romance (which are my favs) and set in Aussie (which is where I'm from) and has great, realisitc characters. Overall such an amazing book!
The Rosie Project, by Graeme Simsion. Charming, funny and endearing.
Anything Morgan Matson her books are great summer reads!
Naked at Lunch by Mark Haskell Smith. For many of us, being at a beach in the summer can feel weirdly like hanging out with a bunch of strangers in our underwear. Haskell Smith’s rollicking Naked at Lunch does its absolute best to make us feel more comfortable in our skin. In his funny, thorough account of his investigative stint as a social nudist, he deftly balances reporting, dry humor, historical context and hilarious anecdotes.
The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning are great beach reads .
Anything light and romantic like Wrong Number, Right Guy by Elle Casey or Dirty by Kylie Scott.

I love a good fantasy for a beach read. Being outside always makes it feel a little more real.
Perhaps not technically a beach read, but Sarah Pinborough's "Breeding Ground" is one I come back around to every summer. It causes weird looks (who reads horror at the beach/park?), but then where I'm from it could simply be the fact that I read in public at all. :)
I love reading novellas at the beach since they are quick reads!
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen because it's not just your typical cutesy summer read. It's deep, and it's about family!

Nora Roberts or Jill Shalvis because I like to relax with a good romance and a happy ending when I'm on holiday.
I think that my favorite "beach read" would be a small stack of my favorite magazines. I say this because I imagine laying out in the backyard or at our picnic table, letting my mind wander as I flip through the magazines that I've been meaning to catch up on. It's an activity that I'd find entertaining, enjoyable, and definitely not a waste of time-- but I wouldn't need to pay very close attention or take it too seriously.
A chick lit. Love them and find them perfect beach/summer reading. Although I do like Christmas-based novels in summer for some reason too. Only problem is, remember how long you've been reading and slap on the sun cream or you might be doing a "lobster" impression.
Horror novels, because thex make me chilly
Anything by Kelly Oram. Her books are so much fun and I love them! I think The Avery Shaw Experiment is my favorite for the beach, it's a really light and fun reading. But I LOVE her Supernaturals series!
