Corie Benton is the co-producer of a reality TV-show called Bachelor Island. When the finalist of episode five has to pull back from the competition they decide to shoot this episode again with new bachelors. Corie has never forgotten a certain cowboy and the knowledge that Luke, the host of the show, is his brother makes her bring up the idea to make an episode with cowboys. Luckily everyone is on board and so Wyatt Hardy is on his way to be on Bachelor Island.

Wyatt has his own ranch but he has hit a rough patch financially. His daughter has been sick and her medical bills are sky high. The ranch could also use some maintenance. Being a single parent makes Wyatt face these problems all by himself. When he gets the offer to be a contestant on Bachelor Island he doesn't hesitate and signs the contract. The money he will make with this will surely help him with a lot of his problems.

The moment Wyatt sees Corie he cannot believe his luck. They once bumped into each other and he still remembers what she smelled like. For the sake of the show they are both trying to deny the chemistry between them. Corie wants to see Wyatt succeed and Wyatt wants Corie to keep her reputation intact. When other people are trying to influence the outcome of the show it is hard to stay truthful. Will Corie and Wyatt be able to stand a chance when enemies want them to fail?

Bachelor Island is a refreshing love story. I loved the idea to put in old fashioned cowboys. I can imagine that there won't be a lot of women out there who could resist those men (me included).
Robena Grant made her characters sound and look real using language and outfits that would be suitable for them. This story shows that the truth will always come out and that honesty is the best policy.

Bachelor Island is a perfect holiday read because of the fact that the story is set on an Island. While I was reading in the sun I could imagine myself being there. If you are looking for a book to bring with you on your holiday then you should certainly give this book a try.
