Maya is very lucky as her career mentoring day is going to be with the famous Jesse Scott. He's Nashville's teenage idol and she can't believe she has the chance to learn from him. Only their first meeting doesn't go according to plan. Maya isn't as impressed as she thought she would be. Jesse represents everything she's ever dreamed of though. Unfortunately Maya's boyfriend hurt her badly and she also lost her own band because of him. How can she make it in the music industry without them? Can Jesse show her the ropes and is he maybe also able to heal her broken heart a little?
Maya and Jesse love music, it's what makes them connect so well. Jesse's fame doesn't come without sacrifices and sometimes he's under too much pressure. With Maya he can finally have some fun. Maya would love to perform, but without her band she's a little lost. Jesse can teach her a lot and he needs a friend which is exactly what she is. They're good for each other. I like how both of them have their own style. They are completely at ease in their own skin. I loved Miranda Kenneally's vivid descriptions of both how they look and what they're like as a person.
Miranda Kenneally's writing flows easily. Jesse's Girl is a fun story to read. Because Jesse and Maya are taking the time to learn things about each other the reader has the chance to get to know them very well. I really enjoyed that. They are wonderful together and I couldn't wait to find out how the story would end. I read it in one sitting. I love a good romantic story with interesting main characters and Jesse's Girl definitely falls into that category.
